Our Flickr gallery is our repository for all the photos we’re taking during our seven day test drive of the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible. We’ll be adding more photos as we take them. Check out the Flickr slideshow following the jump.
Alice Cooper, the rocker whose career has gone on for fifty years is selling his 1961 Corvette. The Corvette will be offered for sale at the 2010 Shannons Melbourne Winter Classic Auction in Australia on May 31st. To sweeten the offer, Cooper autographed a white Fender Squier guitar and tossed it into the deal.
We took our borrowed 2010 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport convertible through three different counties in the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday and the drive left a huge impression on me. The folks on the Corvette Team will tell you that once you drive a new Corvette, you’ll be hooked and man am I hooked! This Grand Sport Convertible is a blast to drive, but believe me, we’re just getting started. Our “First Drive” review is after the jump.
Chevy’s all-star PR guy Adam Denison was kind enough to hook us up with a 2010 Corvette Grand Sport for a week and it was delivered around 12 noon today. Over the next week I’ll be providing a series of posts relating to Grand Sports as well as the various ins and outs of this beautiful Torch Red Corvette.
Corvette Racing’s Johnny O’Connell and Jan Magnussen join other ALMS drivers in discussing the famous Corkscrew at Monterey’s Laguna Seca raceway. This should get you all fired up for this weekend’s 6-hour race.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation of the 2004 Corvette over complaints of leaky fuel tanks. Regulators said they opened the investigation of the 33,000 Corvettes built in 2004 after receiving 30 consumer complaints “alleging either liquid fuel or fuel vapor leaking from a fuel tank.”
Corvette Racing and Green Racing: As part of the Michelin Green X Challenge, the team explains the greener aspects of the Corvette Z06 racing models. These include tires and ceramic wheel bearings that offer lower rolling resistance, carbon fiber doors that weight under 15 lbs and air conditioning units that pull just 1.5 hp to cool the cabin. The Detroit home that was owned by Zora Arkus-Duntov and his wife Elfie is now on the market. Located in Grosse Pointe Woods just three blocks from Lake St. Clair, the 2,600 square-foot,3 bedroom/1.5 bath home has a unique style…just like the former first chief engineer of Corvette. Since Duntov’s passing in 1996 at age 86, Elfie lived in the house on the corner whose road sign “Duntov Way” told Corvette enthusiasts that this was Mecca.
As a 15+ year subscriber to Corvette Fever magazine, I was surprised (although not shocked) when I recently heard that the magazine was being merged with Vette magazine and would cease publication. Both magazines are owned by Source Interlink who also publishes Motor Trend and Hot Rod Magazine. In recent years the quality of the magazine has suffered, partly due to the economic realities of competition that magazines have with the internet as well as the company having two similar publications.
