The C6 generation of Corvettes appears to be building a following of faithful enthusiasts.
What’s not to like about these cars, even though the media blasted them for having “cheap” interiors?
Despite those grumbles, the base C6 offered an affordable 400 to 436 horsepower from 2005-13 while serving as a utilitarian vehicle with a hatch in coupe form and a decent trunk as a convertible.
Currently, a very low mileage example of a base 2007 Monterey Red convertible with a black soft top, Ebony leather interior, and many interesting mods is up for sale on Bring a Trailer. With five days left in the auction, the high bid has already soared to $25,000 for this 1,400-mile beauty offered by the spouse of the late owner.
The most noticeable modification is the vented supercharger-style hood, but the original hood is included with the sale if the new one isn’t to your liking.
Other mods include a stainless-steel Corsa exhaust system, 18″ and 19″ HRE Performance wheels, seat-back hoops, LED taillights, lowering bolts for a dropped ride height, and carbon-fiber, chrome, and billet trim.
But the most appealing features for enthusiasts are likely to be the six-speed manual transmission with a skip-shift eliminator, and the Z51 package with its stiffer springs and stabilizer bars, revised shock absorbers and larger cross-drilled brake rotors.
More civilized touches include the 3LT package that throws in a six-disc CD stereo, position memory for the driver’s seat, a head-up display, a power-adjustable steering column, and side airbags. The list of amenities also includes a Bose sound system, Keyless Access, cruise control, power soft top, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The stock parts that have been changed out are also included, as are a reproduction window sticker, service records, removed parts, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title.
If you’re looking for a high-performance sports car without breaking the bank, this beauty might be the one for you since the heavy lifting has already been done for you.

They put C5 BSM on a C6? Kill it with fire.
I think it’s a great looking C6 and I like all the mods that were done to it including the hood.
