[VIDEO] 1996 Corvette Grand Sport Takes On Challengers at the CNS Circle Drags 2022


These Circle Drag races at the Colorado National Speedway took place back in July 2022, and the uploader on YouTube finally got around to uploading them over the weekend. I do think the wait was worth it, though!

These races are just one lap around the track, but damn if they are not exciting. There’s always that element of wondering if the car next to you is going too wide, and the crowd reacts when it looks like they are going to start banging off of each other’s doors. For us Corvette fans, nobody wants to see a 1996 Corvette Grand Sport trading paint with the competition, and luckily all these races featured clean runs.

We got four quick races to share featuring that C4 GS, and I’m sharing them in order uploaded with the final race being last.

  1. The C4 Grand Sport was looking great out there even though it lost to that ugly VW which was surprising. I like how the crowd was really getting into the races.

  4. Why did the Vette driver keep choosing the outside lane?? It’s the slowest way around. That Vette should have won all of them, needed a better driver. Wish we had something like that here. It’s not a C7 and why not, it’s made for competition. I think the C4 driver was taking it easy, and not paying attention to the last race, wish I had my GS there. Pretty sure I could stomp all of them by a lot. By the way, a C7 GS really would have smoked them all badly:)
