Alright, Corvette fans! Here is the introduction we’ve been waiting for at the Michelin NCM Bash. Today at 12 pm, Corvette Team members put up three new displays to show the colors for the 2025 model year. They are called Hysteria (Purple), Competition Yellow, and Sebring Orange.

Let’s start with Hysteria as many enthusiasts including me have been clamoring for a purple, and Chevrolet finally delivered! Hysteria is a darker purple that has a bit of blue in it depending on the light, while in the shade is does turn much darker.

Chevrolet is also bringing back a true Yellow with a name from the past. It’s called Competition Yellow and we also learned that Chevy is adjusting the Edge Yellow brake calipers to better match the new color. Chevrolet used the Competition Yellow name back during the C4 days, and it’s a nice connection to the Corvette Racing Z06 GT3Rs.

And finally, it looks like Sebring Orange is back by popular demand. The color graced the first year C8 Corvettes before it was switched out to Amplify Orange, which was less metallic than Sebring. I’m not sure we’ve ever seen the Corvette Team bring back a discontinued color during the same generation so for fans who lamented the change, this is your chance!

Chevrolet has not yet revealed which colors are going away for the 2025 model year, but it’s safe to assume that two of them are Amplify Orange and Accelerate Yellow. So, Corvette Nation, let us know your thoughts on these colors. I’m headed back out to the NCM Patio to stare at my new favorite color and imagine myself behind the wheel of a Purple People Eater 2.0!

  1. Nice colours… the yellow is excellent. It makes the prior yellow, something akin to piss yellow with a UTI, look like crap… then again, it was crap, so this only reinforces it.

My C6 is Velocity Yellow (?) or is that Victory Yellow? Either way, that’s a great yellow. I have yet to meet someone who didn’t gush over how cheery it is. Makes people happy. A touch of sunshine on a grey day.

I always liked Sebring Orange. Great colour! IIRC, Harlan called it the paint equivalent of Orange Crush soda. My dream? A Sebring Orange C7 ZR1, with a 7spd manual. Drool.

The dark blue is nice, too. Very vivid and strong. Excellent. Now… all we need is a good dark green. 🙂

  2. Improve the yellow…good move. Bring back Sebring Orange…very smart, I was lamenting the replacement of it with a lesser version of orange. “Purple”? Is Corvette afraid of committing themselves? This is not purple that people have been calling for. This is another blue. Green? Guess you will have to settle for the pastel economy car color of Cacti that is a joke of a color for a performance car. Again I say…refer to what McLaren offers. Look at their purples and greens. At least you have the right orange and yellow now. Those calling for purple will have to wait…what another two years maybe?

  3. If ya really , really want a different purple, just make that call , and tell’em… wrap, wrap , wrap it up , I’ll take it. Them put the Stones on and play , You can’t always get what , You want, but,,,,,, just kiddin , lol , safe travels2 All

  4. Fail.

AYM was unique. I get that some wanted a more traditional yellow–but losing AYM to make room for it just pisses off the people who haven’t yet been able to buy what they want in AYM (eg. Z06, ER, ZR1).

And Hysteria isn’t the purple that I or many others were looking for. It’s not even as vibrant as Radar Blue. Half of the purple lovers wanted Black Rose or Dark Purple metallic. The other half wanted something LOUD like TVR or McLaren purple. Hysteria tries to split the difference and comes out being a glorified, muted blue.

So as far as I’m concerned this is a 2/3 fail for GM.

  5. The yellow and orange are great colors. The purple could use improvement but it might look better when you can actually see it on a Corvette especially in the sunlight. I still own an old Competition Yellow 93 Corvette for a third car and I love that color. What goes around comes around.

  6. Great move on the yellow. Acelerate Yellow is my go to but glad I didn’t pull the trigger..more satisfied with the upcoming addition. Can’t comment on the other colors. Not interested in those.

  7. Good effort, except the purple. Should have had a bright green like what McLaren uses. The yellow and orange are excellent!

  8. The yellow is a much better yellow. Why oh why can’t someone from the Corvette team just go grab the paint code of Plum Crazy from Dodge?

  9. Loved the idea of Purple, but this is not it. Looks more blue than purple. How hard is it to make Purple? Another fail by Chevy. Agree with Brad Hansen.

  10. Chevy may want to go with the 1965 one year only Evening Orchid. A classic that is purple without being purple.

  11. What new colors!!!!! Two reruns and a dark color they call purple that DOES NOT POP. Corvette people need a new person in charge of choosing colors. They have a super car with average everyday color choices SAD Guess I’ll going with a wrap.
