Having 15 minutes of fame may be good for a man’s ego, but it doesn’t always do much for his bank account.
Just ask 21-year-old Carlos Clark, who recently shared his exploits of baiting and fleeing from police several times and breaking other traffic laws in his 2018 Corvette Z06 with his 292,000 Instagram followers.
But fame is often fleeting. As the Charlotte-Mecklen Police Department in North Carolina put it on its own Instagram page: “You can run but you cannot hide.”

The corvette *ISN’T* stolen and it *IS* seized.

Indeed, the department’s Operation SCARLET (Stolen Car and Recovery Law Enforcement Team) unit was able to track down the Corvette owner’s identity and located the car on March 28. While trying to execute a traffic stop, Clark allegedly struck a patrol car and sped away – but not for long. SCARLET officers arrested him later that day and executed a search warrant at his home, where in addition to the Z06, they seized a potpourri of items that included 113.5 pounds of THC vials, 10 pounds of THC Edibles, 3.6 pounds of Belgian Chocolate Bars containing mushrooms, 18.8 pounds of pre-rolled marijuana blunts, 4 pounds of marijuana resin, 3.6 pounds of mushrooms, four firearms: an AK47, two AR15s, and a Glock, and $1,950.56 in cash.
Now Clark faces multiple charges, including Felony Flee/Elude Arrest with Motor Vehicle, Hit/Run Property Damage, Reckless Driving, Assault with Deadly Weapon, Resisting Public Officer, Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Distribute, Alter/Steal/Destroy Criminal Evidence, Possess Drug
Paraphernalia, Possess Marijuana Paraphernalia, Trafficking Marijuana.
After being booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail at 5:15 a.m. March 29, he was released upon paying a $20,000 secured bond.
On Wednesday evening, a youtuber named R/T Life shared this YouTube video showing some of the crazy antics from the @TheStolenZ06 channel on Instagram. We can only be thankful that this Corvette owner didn’t hurt or kill someone for the sake of Instagram clicks…

I saw this story on the local news. The streets will be a little safer now that CMPD has arrested this stupid dangerous asshole and seized his Z06. I agree he should not have been given bond. Hopefully he will be behave himself while out on bond but it’s doubtful.
What a loser, hurts all of us who own corvettes and are responsible!
