Every Corvette enthusiast dreads the day when time catches up with them and they have to finally give up driving their beloved car.
That’s the situation for the owner of this beautiful national award-winning 1991 Corvette convertible with 53,000 miles that’s being offered for sale on our sister website VetteFinders.
He has moved to an assisted living facility and must sell his car, which he says wins awards at all the shows he enters. There’s even a big trophy from a show sitting on the tire with the hood open, along with other photos taken at shows.
To help with the sale, he’s reduced the price to $16,000 for this rare Turquoise Metallic roadster (with black soft top) – one of just 1,621 (593 convertibles and 1,118 coupes) built in that lovely shade that was offered only in ’90 and ’91.
The heavily loaded car listed for $46,719 with $7,399 worth of frills like a matching hardtop for $1,995, Selective Ride and Handling for $1,695, and Black Leather Adjustable Sport Seats for $1,100. Also on the list is the $1,333 Preferred Equipment Group #1 that includes niceties like electronic air conditioning, six-way power driver’s seat, and Delco-Bose Music System that was further upgraded with the $395 CD player.
The car also includes a luggage rack, low tire pressure monitoring, engine oil cooler, and six-way power passenger seat. Enthusiasts will be excited about the six-speed manual transmission connected to the standard L98 Tuned-Port Fuel Injected 350 V8 engine that produced 245 horsepower.
The owner proudly says it’s “possibly the best C4 around!” and he definitely has the stats to back up that boast, including NCRS Top Flight 99.4%, Bloomington Gold Gold Certified 99.4%, and Chicago Chevy/Vette Fest 98.7%.
But this car isn’t just living in the past as it remains in pristine condition and “can do it all again,” he says, noting it’s a great contender for Bloomington Gold Benchmark Certification achieved by only 5%.
The car includes plenty of documentation like the factory build sheet, all manuals, visor card, steering wheel cover, license plate cover and “everything like it just came off the truck,” the owner says.

This Corvette Convertible represents the best that Chevrolet designed, engineered and assembled for this generation of Corvettes – with the most beautiful Turquoise Metallic paint, a great 6 speed transmission and best of all a Convertible model that is just a blast to drive with the top down and the music blasting. I should have bought this Convertible in 1991.
