These are the matchups we’ve have been waiting to see!
For almost the entire life of this blog, which is going on 19 years this August, we’ve seen the Nissan GTR absolutely destroy the Corvette at the drag strip. Nissan’s Godzilla was one of the first OGs to feature both an All-Wheel-Drive configuration and a launch control system. When it showed up at the track, it was to be feared as much as a Tesla Plaid is today. Back in the day, if you were facing Godzilla, you’re most likely going to see taillights…
Members of the Corvette team have surely taken notice of how AWD can change the landscape of drag racing and now the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray is ready to show what it can do against the GTR and a $600K tuned Lamborghini Aventador SJ.
In the E-Ray’s drivers seat is Jesse Iwuji who recently took delivery of a new E-Ray in Cacti Green. His times in the E-Ray against his opponents was 10.635 @126.87 against the GTR and 10.65 @126.21 vs the Lamborghini. I love hearing Jesse’s laugh in the video and there is a lot to be excited about!

My eRay is BONE STOCK and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this generation of Corvettes(Z06 and eRay) are supercars! But at the end of the day it’s all talk till you show up at the track. There’s an old saying that goes, “those who **** around, tend to always find out”. Well I decided to mess around and race a $600k +740 HP Tuned Lamborghini Aventador SV, 600+ WHP FBO R35 GTR, and a purpose built drag car from the factory the Demon 170; and boy did I FIND OUT…enjoy the video.

I think it’s safe to assume now that a stock ER can put down 10.6’s pretty reliably.
He flew there with the car?? Must be nice. Mid ten second runs consistently?? Awesome. Demons are fast, but they don’t turn for shit and they don’t stop for shit. It is pretty cool for a single use vehicle. I would rather have the ER hands down.
