Corvettes for Sale: The 'Fiery' 1959 Corvette Found by Dennis Collins in Offered on eBay

YouTuber Dennis Collins spotted this “fiery” 1959 Corvette in Michigan back in April, complete with a replacement engine out of a 1968 Camaro Z/28.

Now, his shop is offering the car on eBay, minus that pony car engine and transmission, with an asking price of $29,800 or best offer.

This ’59 had been stored inside for half a century after a heater box fire, when Dennis came to the rescue and brought it back into the light of day.

Some might say the car would have been better off remaining in its long-time grave, based on its current condition, but as long as someone has deep pockets, this Corvette can definitely be salvaged.

Even in its current condition, the car is sharper looking than most of the cookie-cutter vehicles of today that weren’t even a glimmer in the eye of their designers when this ’59 was parked way back in 1975.

Most people seem to think it would be impractical to restore it to NCRS standards, and we tend to agree that a restomod approach would be the most practical way to send this Roman Red (with white coves) Corvette back on the road.

After all, with so many parts already missing, a new owner wouldn’t have to feel guilty about taking any approach he wants – including the addition of a more modern engine and transmission. It’s also easy to source a lot of the parts to return the interior to stock condition or even hire a shop to come up with a one-off design.

As the listing says, “what you see in photos is what comes with the car,” so a new owner will also have to replace the hood and the convertible top.

Whether this car is worth the asking price is up for debate, since so much work will need to be done, but with these late C1s commanding big bucks, especially after being converted into restomods, the challenge might be worth it to the right enthusiast.
