[PODCAST] NCM Insurance Agency CEO Adam Boca on the Collector Car Podcast

Podcasts are a great way to learn more about some of the great people and organizations in the Corvette Hobby as these longform conversations go deeper and are generally unfiltered, and this allows the guest’s personality and subject-level knowledge to shine through.

Our friend Adam Boca of the NCM Insurance Agency recently sat down with Collector Car Podcast for an all-encompassing discussion of Corvettes. This was a fun one as the conversation isn’t a hard sell for auto insurance and instead focuses on some of the great moments in Corvette history.

Most Corvette owners know that the NCM Insurance Agency is part of the National Corvette Museum’s family of companies, and Adam tells the story how it came together under the leadership of Wendell Strode. NCM Insurance Agency currently insures nearly 100,000 vehicles nationwide which includes Corvettes as well as other collector vehicles. While it started with just Adam being its only representative, today the staff has grown to 16 employees.

The first part of the discussion shares some history of the National Corvette Museum as well as how it ended up with the world’s only 1983 Corvette. For the record, there is more to that story as the NCM technically has more than just one example of the 1983 Corvette in house as Adam reveals here. Adam is also asked about why the ’83 Corvette was delayed and he discussed some the challenges that Chevrolet was facing at the assembly plant at the time.

The real fun happens once the host plays a couple of “games” with Adam. The first is asking Adam for his favorite model year from each of the Corvette’s eight generations and then host of the podcast also tells us his. It’s a game that many enthusiasts play with each other, and it’s also a good way to gauge someone’s knowledge of Corvette history. While there is technically no wrong answer, Adam’s responses show just how in-tune he is with the Corvette hobby, and which Corvettes would be featured in his fantasy collection.

The next game is called “Keep, Cash, or Crush,” and the host asks Adam to choose which Corvette they would keep forever, cash in, or send to the crusher among three models of similar value. Those three cars were:

• C6 Corvette ZR1
• C4 1996 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible (with Red Interior)
• C2 1967 Corvette Base 427 with a non-matching motor

Adam struggled a bit here because the choices include three great Corvette models and the thought of having to send one to the crusher was very difficult, plus the fact that Adam knew he might make a friend or two mad with his answers. What would be your response to the Keep, Cash, or Crush game given these three unique Corvette models?

This in-depth discussion on the Collector Car Podcast with Adam Boca of the NCM Insurance Agency offered some fun insights into the world of Corvette, while information specifically about Corvette insurance took a back seat to the conversation. As a current customer of the NCM Insurance Agency, we love the fact that NCM Insurance Agency writes only Agreed-Value policies. That is a “promise of value” made between you and your underwriter, and it’s the value that you will receive if your vehicle is lost in an accident or other incident.

  1. Wow, tough choice:
Assuming the C6 ZR1 and C4 GS are all original and in good shape my heart says crush the C2 w/ with non original motor. (depending on the day)

Financially though, I would think even with the non original motor the C2 is worth much more then the C4, plus, a 67 C2 is a 67 C2, so money wise I would crush the C4.

The ZR1 is coming home either way !😁
