Corvettes for Sale: 1963 Corvette Split Window Roller on eBay

Opinions are running hot on this 1963 Corvette split window coupe that one Barn Finds onlooker believes doesn’t have “a snowball’s chance of ever being more than a Frankenstein’s monster of a Corvette.”

We’re not sure we’d go that far because some of the heavy lifting has already been done on this vintage Sting Ray, but perhaps not enough to justify the seller’s “Buy It Now” price of $69,900 on eBay Motors.

The car allegedly started life as a Daytona Blue over Dark Blue SWC, but after being converted into a flared fender custom in the 1970s, it’s now a patchwork quilt of colors after a Corvette body shop returned it to stock with new door gutters, rear quarters, front fenders, inner fenders, upper firewall, hood surround and related bonding strips. All fiberglass has been replaced with quality press molded fiberglass panels, the seller says.

While the birdcage is said to have been repaired, photos seem to indicate rust remaining on the frame, leading some to believe the only way to proceed safely is with a nut and bolt restoration.

The seller says he’s including the exterior stainless trim, all glass, door guts, headlight buckets, bumper cores, front grille, dash assembly, steering column assembly and pedal assembly – but “NO other parts.” The original engine and transmission are said to be “long gone.”

The seller calls it “the perfect project car for a restomod build,” but says he’s “not sure it would be worth putting back stock.”

What do you think project car?
