[VIDEO] 2024 Corvette E-Ray Zaps the Ferrari F8 and Lamborghini Huracan Evo in Three Way Drag Race

Get excited, Corvette fans! One of the best car shows on the net, Jason Cammisa’s Ultimate Drag Race Replay from Hagerty, is back! Episode 12 is here, and Jason scored early access to a 2024 Corvette E-Ray. Like everyone else on the planet, Hagerty’s host is intrigued by the first-ever hybrid AWD ‘Vette, but unlike anyone else, he has one to test. Of course, the question on his and everyone’s mind is exactly how quick this Corvette of firsts is. On the long straight of Cammisa’s favorite sandbox, Willow Springs raceway, he wrangled a trifecta of yardsticks to measure the newest limb of the Crossed Flag family tree.

Before getting down to the action, Jason hits pause to let the two American competitors have an exhaust “argument” to see which sounds best. This wonderful detour just proves to us what we’ve expected all along; that the LT2 is far too muted. Next, we get some background on the ‘Vette that we haven’t met yet and some sweet footage from when the Z curb-stomped the 911 GT3 on a previous episode of UDRR. Then Jason humorously explains how Ferrari and Lamborghini both declined their respective invitations to participate in the E-Ray’s coming out party. Hagerty dodged this Italian reluctance by sourcing competitors from Falcon Car Rental (who is celebrating by offering up to 35% off exotic rentals on their site!).

After a quick plug for this generous partner, we finally get down to the nitty-gritty on the non-domestics, starting with the Ferrari F8 Spider. The Rosso Corsa Prancing Horse enters the ring with 710 ponies and 568 lb.-ft. from a 3.9L twin-snail V8 that pushes around 3,650 lbs. It starts at just under $300,000. The Evo-spec Huracan is also a drop-top, and unlike most of its kin, its glorious NA V10 sends its 602 HP and 413 torques exclusively to its rear wheels. The white Raging Bull tips the scales at 3,674 lbs., and it is a bit more reasonably priced than its “paisano” with an original MSRP around $260,000.

Just 2.4 seconds into the race, when the ‘Vette is already going 60 MPH, we see why Ferrari and Lamborghini weren’t thrilled by the prospect of fighting an E-Ray. We’ll leave it at that and make you watch the rest to see the results, but Jason signs off by teasing what we’ve wanted since episode 1 hit the net. There is a track-centric show – starring Randy Pobst – inbound, and the Z06 will be heavily featured along with the insane aero of the new GT3 RS and the out of its league BMW M4 CSL. Needless to say, he’s got our attention, and we will keep you posted as this development, Corvette Nation! For now, enjoy this first slice of E-Ray action!

  1. I wanted to watch this video but gave up. It kept freezing up and stopping every few seconds. I’m a hard core Corvette fan but I’ve got to admit that the F8 gives the C8 a run for the money in the styling department. The F8 is very sleek, clean looking and proportioned right. It looks great from every angle.

  2. Why road test the Z06, ERay…they are only available to influencers’ and mega wealthy.
These cars are PR teasers. 5 dealers tell me 2024 for the Z06, 2025 for the ERay……then they wanted to trade me up to a Electric Silverado, that’s also N/A…but Bolts were in stock…I am done…..if you know what I mean…..
