Even tho its 4000 #s it does look like it hands pretty well. Not Z06 handling but drifts like champ.
The acceleration is there. Numbers don’t lie. GM has done a great job of learning how to make a car handle without ride harshness.
That said, having owned 4 Corvettes but other brand, Lotus, sports cars that are light weight, Esprit, the ‘feel’ of a sub 3,000 car and the weight of the eRay and other sports cars today feel bloted and ponderous. There ‘snap’ and quick response is lost.
The pinical of modern light weight Corvette was the ‘base’ C7. Why even the base C8, and especially the Z06 weight so much more than the C7 is a mystery to me. No drive shafts, separate trans and diff now all in one transaxle, I would think weight would go down, not up.
