Dana Mecum’s 39th Annual Spring Classic has been underway for over a week now in Indianapolis and we just had to share this breaking news that just crossed the wires.
A 2026 Corvette ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition Convertible was offered this afternoon and it hammered sold for $550,000! With the sales commission, the official selling price is listed at $605,000.
This was number 11 of the 60 special editions that have been produced so far. (GM hasn’t announced the number for the total run.) The ZR1X Convertible gets its name after it was officially announced and displayed at “The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering” during Monterey Car Week in 2025.
This result by Mecum beats the recent sale of Quail Silver #19 on Bring a Trailer earlier this month which came in at $425,000. That car was offered by a California Chevrolet dealer with a certificate of origin, so the vehicle came with a full factory warranty. Mecum makes it clear on their website that this vehicle does not have a factory warranty.
In addition to the Quail Silver package which also adds the Sky Cool/Medium Ash Interior with Habanero Accents and Orange brake calipers, this car was optioned with the full Visible Carbon Fiber Aero Package, Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior, Front Lift, ZTK Performance Package, and the Stealth Interior Trim Package. It has just 6 miles on the odometer. A look at the window sticker shows the MSRP on the car was $284,750.

I don’t want a Vette named after a little bird. And certainly not at that price without a warranty.
A sucker is born every minute.
No new Corvette is with that kind of money, depreciation on the $605,000 selling price will be steep.
Never liked corvette’s except the 1st 3 years.
In person auctions are often influenced by alcohol and other attendees encouraging higher bids. I suppose bring a trailer auction could be influenced by alcohol as well.

While I was looking at the Window-Sticker I was thinking how ridiculous some of the options are priced. Afterwards, I was looking at a price-sheet from Ferrari, that quickly settled me down, the options on the Ferrari were more than the list-price of the Corvette
