[VIDEO] iJustine Checks Out the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, Says Top Speed is 180 MPH

You peeps are in for a treat! I just came across this review of the 2024 Corvette E-Ray featuring technology YouTuber iJustine. If you’re not familiar with her, she became famous as a “lifecaster” and technology blogger and was once called “the most influential person online” by Fast Company. iJustine has 7+ million YouTube subscribers and over one billion total views, so she has a huge audience. Plus, she is fun to watch and is very enthusiastic about the new Corvette!

Justine catches up with the E-Ray during its L.A. residency at the Petersen Automotive Museum and she has access to the Seawolf Gray E-Ray Coupe and the cutaway chassis that was also on display. Joining Justine in her exploration of the E-Ray performance hybrid is Vehicle Performance Manager Aaron Link and Exterior Design Manager Kirk Bennion. She also gets some time in the Corvette’s interior to check out the well-designed accoutrements.

The more looks we get at this new Corvette, the more complete picture we get of all the new features. With each new video, we capture a screen here or there that hasn’t really been seen before, and that happens several times here. We get this close-up photo just prior to the V8 startup and the other screens come from the E-Ray Performance App. The car is only showing just 89 miles showing on the odometer, so there is little data populated:

As Justine talks with Kirk Bennion, she comes back and proclaims the top speed of the E-Ray to be 180 mph. That’s the first we heard of a top speed number for the car, and it obviously seems low to us given the non-Z51 Stingray is capable of 194 MPH. Perhaps the widebody E-Ray has a little more drag with its track-inspired bodywork or its the extra weight from the batteries slowing it down. We’ll have to follow up on that when given the chance.

  1. Cool. Let the ERAY be for those that want a hybrid, and the ZO6 for those who want the most powerful NA V8 of all time. Now, give us a twin turbo V8 GT car for the same $105k price point they share for those us who want to replace our forced induction C7 ZO6s.

  2. Whatever the next model is, now that Maculkin has set the bar with having people wait all night outside in 13 degree weather, I’m hoping for the Zora I can find a dealer in Florida willing to take deposits during a hurricane, or maybe one in Texas can do it during a tornado? I’d be super stoked if they can have a California wildfire unveiling for the ZR1! I think to be fair for everyone the level of danger involved in buying a new Corvette should increase with the cost of the car. So much more exciting than an orderly list.

  3. Jim – I can see a manly battle to get the Zora. First, the Black Knight, then the fire-breathing dragon, then finally a game of chicken between the candidate and Joe Biden in his C2. I would feel fairly confident in who blinks first…

  4. @Vette Wait’er – LOL. I agree to your terms as long as the dealer does not have a surprise demand of the right of prima nocta on delivery day.

  5. I drove from northern Georgia into North Carolina in my 2023 Red Mist C8 Corvette. I could have broken the speed limits at any time if I wanted to risk getting caught on radar by the police.
My point is that with all of the C8 Stingray power, why would a person need to spend tens oof thousands more on an even faster Corvette where there really isn’t any legal place to open it up on the highway. Of course if you happen to have a race track in your area a few laps around the oval might be worth the extra money for the Z06 or the E Ray. Yet for many people who can afford just owning one of these great cars would be a thrill in itself.
