A highlight of the National Corvette Museum’s Bash event is the official “What’s New” seminar with members of the Corvette team and from that we got some news regarding the 2026 model year production statistics.
The number they provided for total production during the 2026 Corvette model year was approximately 25,000 Corvettes. While not yet official, GM knows exactly how many orders have been accepted and sequenced through the end of the model year which is on May 29th. With the assembly plant having the next two weeks off due to supplier constraints, that leaves just three full weeks of 2026 production remaining.
Once the model year has been completed, GM will reveal of the official model year stats with the exact number of units produced. But until then, they did provide us with percentage’s of each model, body style, and trim group.
With approximately 25K units produced, the models break down as follows:
• Stingray: 62%
• E-Ray: 5%
• Z06: 26%
• ZR1/ZR1X: 7%
It would have been nice to see the ZR1 and ZR1X production percentages to have been broken out individually, and hopefully we’ll see that in the final stats. The graphic below also shows the individual percentages for each of the three trim groups based on the body style:
We also got build numbers for one of the two Special Editions offered during the 2026 model year. We don’t have the numbers yet for the Corvette ZR1X Quail Silver Editions, but we do for the RPO USA Stars & Steel Corvettes. Chevrolet is celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States with 250 of these featuring both Arctic White and Black Corvettes with a special flag design which were built across the five different models.
Here is how they break down:
“USA” Stars & Steel Edition
| Stingray | E-Ray | Z06 | ZR1 | ZR1X | Total |
| 99 | 50 | 51 | 25 | 25 | 250 |
In addition to vehicle build percentages, Chevrolet also provided these stats on the exterior and interior colors for the 2026 Corvette model year. It was surprising to see Blade Silver Metallic as number 3 while Roswell Green was 6th. As we’ve been tracking, Hysteria Purple came in dead last at 4% which is still higher than what we’ve seen the bottom number be in previous years. The other deleted color, Riptide Blue is still showing a decent 7% of builds.
As for the interiors, Black comes in first at 58% while the top stitch color is Red at 8.3%:

The 1 LT Stingray coupe had the strongest sales. It’s the only model that the middle class can stretch to afford.
Note that the HTC 3LZ was the best selling ER. This is something that dealerships keep overlooking when they buy lot stock. 1LZ (coupe or HTC) does not sell, coming in with some of the lowest take rates out of the entire lineup.
The ER is a grand tourer–and people buying it want a nice interior with all the frills. It isn’t a car to stretch for like a 1LT SR coupe or a 1LZ Z06 coupe. Dealerships placed lot stock orders on it–expecting that people wanted the same kinds of spec they get the SR & Z with. Big mistake.
The numbers bear it out. ER is the Bentley/Aston of the lineup, and buyers want it nicely configured. Shame that GM didn’t just offer it as a Cadillac to begin with–as that would have been a better fit.
Note to the price sensitive middle class: the interior change (probably driven by social media comment – probably not owners or buyers) raised the price of all new Corvettes about $4000+. The change wasn’t functionally necessary – no improvement in my experience. The “wall of buttons” was not objectionable to me except that it physically separated/compartmentalized the driver and passenger and made the interior look smaller. Very tolerable though. Because it was replaced with a USELESS “handle” that is just as high (!) instead of eliminating it, this so-called “improvement” does the same objectionable thing. So now we get to pay more for no gain. When contemplating changes, Chevrolet needs to weight buyer opinion way over over social media opinion. Oh well, you can only buy what they build. When driving enthusiastically I don’t pay attention to an interior. And I don’t stare at it when parked.
