This week Corvette Racing heads to Monterey, California for the StubHub Monterey SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and they have a special surprise awaiting fans.
A new racing livery for the Corvette Z06 GT3Rs has been unveiled and it’s a throwback to the same Yellow/White livery worn by the C5-R Corvettes during the first half of the American Le Mans Series in 2000 which included races at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the Twelve Hours of Sebring, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The new livery will be exclusive to the GTD-PRO No.3 and No.4 Corvettes. It features white on the sides of the car while the top and front is done in Corvette Racing’s classic Yellow.
One nice touch is the transformation of the GM Goodwrench brand which was a sponsor of the team in the early 2000s, and it appeared on the doors. Using the same style and font, it now reads Pratt Miller Motorsports.
Like the NFL has been doing with its annual Throwback games, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and IMSA announced the 2026 race would be a throwback weekend, and Pratt Miller Motorsports was looking for one of its historic liveries that would also fit well on the midengined Z06 GT3Rs. In collaboration with GM Motorsports and the GM Design, the team worked to make the livery as close to the original as possible, a throwback sure to bring back memories:
“Reviewing liveries over the years, it was about finding a striking scheme and one that works well on the Z06 GT3.R body contours and styling lines,” said Matt Stasiak, the Operations Manager of Pratt Miller Motorsports who has also been the team’s livery designer since 2024. “The C5-R 2000 early-season livery was a perfect fit, while body styling of Corvette’s has evolved over the years, the livery remains timeless.”
Corvette Racing has had some spectacular races at Laguna Seca over the years with the team claiming eight class victories at the iconic track. The C5-R era came to a close in 2004 with the final race at Laguna Seca and the team finished first and second in the GTS class.
Pratt Miller Motorsports has finished third in GTD-PRO at Laguna Seca over the last two years and now they are hoping to return to the top step of the podium this weekend.
The StubHub Monterey SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is a 2 Hour 40 Minute race and you watch it live on Peacock starting at 4:00 pm ET.
