[VIDEO] Five Reasons New C8 Corvettes Have Now Dropped Below MSRP

Last Friday we came across a Montana dealer selling two new C8 Corvettes with the kicker being they were offered for $3,000 off MSRP. We spoke to the dealer rep who told us there were a number of factors for lowering the price with one major factor being the coming winter weather.

But there is more to it than just the weather as we’ve been watching the market conditions for pre-owned Corvettes finally cooling, and now we are starting to see it from Chevrolet dealers selling new Corvettes as well.

Our friend Mike at the Brink of Speed YouTube Channel breaks down some of these market factors and makes some really good points about what buyers may be facing in the coming months. Are we going to soon see Chevrolet dealers with in-stock Corvettes ready to sell? It sure looks like the market is headed that way.

  1. Great video. Screw those people who purchased C8 just to flip them and make a ton of money. Here’s hoping they get stuck with the vehicle and have to sell it below what they paid for it.

  2. Bought my 70th.Anniversary HTC Z51 at MSRP in May after having my dealer place the order for me in December. Don’t really care if they come down from MSRP I’m more than happy and satisfied with my Vette, I didn’t buy it based on price, I bought it based on content,it’s still way under priced for what it is.

  3. Could it just be the effects of the wonderful Bidenomics economy and the Modern Monetary Theory of the brainless Fed?

  4. Very balanced video. With 120,000 stingrays on the road now, it’s kinda yesterday’s news for most of the public which is what happens with any new model. Few can say that they never saw a C8 before, right? That doesn’t mean that the car is bad. It’s just not going to have the exclusive envy impact that “white-leather loafer country-club posers” crave. Soon there will be more C8s on the road than C7s – which are nice too. It’s great that stingrays are becoming more affordable if you have cash. A good performing car with good styling.

  5. Enjoy your car. The good thing and problem with Corvette is that it’s a really good car that is so affordable. Any immature kid with poor writing skills and a big bank loan can get one and pretend to be a big shot – until it gets repossessed. Now that Corvette has been “out” since 2019, few will envy you (if your weak self esteem craves that) or hate you. Others may own something even better – get used to it and grow up. There’s nothing negative about reality.

  6. Good advice Bill. I have the opposite problem – a nice problem to have. Thanks to limited availability of the Z06, I could probably buy 2 of them by now (at MSRP of course). However, buying first year of production of any new “clean sheet” engine design is usually not smart. Best to let “consumer testing/customer abuse” work out the bugs. The C8 transmission complaints are a good example. Patience can be rewarding…

  7. True Bob,but then you’re missing out on a lot of fun and thrills. Better to roll the dice and get some smiles on your face. Just buy 1 and drive it till the trans goes then get another to drive while Chevy is fixing the first, and you’ll always have a spare…..I have no patience.

  8. 125,000 mid-engine race car wannabes already on the street, and climbing by another 55,000+ in 2024 production. Superb for track days (with new tires and brake disk replacement costs EACH TIME), but not much else. A one trick pony in a world where mama needs a second SUV for multiple kid hauling activities and daddy only has one extra seat. Only Great Carnack, is the c8 fortune one of million dollar resales; or half a million mid-engine Fiero’s produced great disappearing act?
