GAA's Fall Collector Car Auction Set for November 2nd – 4th

If you haven’t achieved your 2023 goal of adding a Corvette to your garage, our friends over at GAA Classic Cars might be able to help. Coming up Thursday, November 2nd through Saturday, November 4th, they will be hosting their annual fall auction at the GAA Classic Cars facility located at 301 Norwalk Street in Greensboro, North Carolina. Doors open daily at 8:00 am and vehicles sales follow at 10:00 am.

As of this writing, we see 619 cars on the November docket so far with up to 750 available during the event. Of those, you’ll notice 48 Corvettes representing all 8 generations. Diving further into the numbers, the Corvette docket is heavily tilted towards the early cars. There are six C1’s available plus eight C2’s, and 16 C3’s. That’s more than half of the Corvette docket. The later model cars are represented by seven C4’s, four C5’s, four C6’s, a pair of C7’s, and a single C8 Corvette Stingray.

Models encompass 1954 through 2023 and the cars range from perfectly restored classics to “Day 2” customs and all the way to a fully rebodied 2013 coupe. We’ve already taken a look at John Goodman’s former 1960 Corvette, so here are a few more cars to keep an eye on in next month in Greensboro.

1954 Sportsman Red Roadster

1954 Sportsman Red Roadster

This award-winning 2nd-year Corvette is one of just 100 (2.7% of production) painted in Sportsman Red in 1954. The interior is finished in matching red vinyl and a complementing beige convertible top. Notable features include the 235 Blue Flame inline 6 engine, Powerglide transmission, signal seeking radio, and a parking brake alarm. It’s the recipient of a comprehensive restoration and has since received our hobbies highest awards. Those accolades include a 99.1% NCRS Regional Top Flight, 2022 Bloomington Gold Certification, and 2022 MCACN Concourse Gold and Triple Diamond.

1958 Black Pro Touring Convertible

Lot ST0072.2 is the culmination of an intense 6-year build. This amazing 1958 contains many one-off design features. Power comes via a 485hp LS3 engine that’s mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission and a Dana 36 rear end. All that sits on a Chassis Concepts frame sporting C4 Corvette suspension wearing Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes. Other unique features include a powered hood, keyless start, and vintage A/C. Elsewhere you’ll find an Al Knoch canvas convertible top, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Flaming River steering column. Diamond Back Classics redline tires wrap C6-style polished wheels.

1966 Yellow Custom Coupe

This cool midyear custom is finished in Goodwood Yellow over a bold black and red leather interior. The build was done from scratch starting with a custom frame courtesy of Chassis Concepts using a smattering of C5, C6, and C7 Components. The LS3 engine with carbon fiber intake cover is bolted to a 4L60 automatic transmission and exhales through a custom-built rear center-exit exhaust. The custom red/black leather interior was done by Hot Rod Interiors and features a contrasting white baseball stitch. Additional interior content includes a billet steering wheel, Vintage A/C, and a custom stereo with a backup camera. 18″ Forgeline wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

  1. I’ve had the pleasure of attending over 20 GAA auctions so far and I’m looking forward to going to the November auction. It’s a well run auction in a nice facility with great staff. There’s always a great selection of nice vehicles including Corvettes, my personal favorite of course. You can buy vehicles at GAA for less than you would pay for the same vehicle at the major national traveling auctions.
