Corvettes for Sale: Orange 1973 Corvette on Craigslist is Ready for Summer

The 1973 Corvette represents the best of both worlds to some enthusiasts with its simultaneous nod to the past and the future.

The ’73 saluted the old days with its chrome bumpers at the rear and also looked ahead with its new urethane front bumper.

In fact, according to the Corvette Black Book, none other than legendary Corvette designer Larry Shinoda often said one of his favorite Corvettes was the ’73 because he thought the long-snout, abrupt rear came closest to capturing the original designer’s intent for the Mako-inspired generation.

  1. Wow. That’s the Corvette for me. The 73 is one of my very favorite Corvettes. I’ve dreamed of owning a 73 ever since they came out when I was a kid. The color combo and the mods on that car do it for me. I’d never be able to buy it because my ol’ lady would pitch a bitch if I brought home another Corvette.

  2. Robert – I had a 77 that looked much like this for about 15 years. I got a newer Vette & this one sat, so I sold it. I still love the color & the c3 style.

  3. Denyce – that’s wild. When I was 20 I bought my first Corvette, a used 77. It was Corvette Orange over Buckskin interior which I assume yours was also. I kept it five years and then traded it for a one year old 84 that gave me nothing but trouble with electrical problems. I wish I still had that 77.

  4. Robert it was buckskin interior. To make this weirder – I leased an 84 and lots of electrical problems. I traded it for a Nissan 300. I didn’t go back to Vettes til 1995 when I got the 77. Then I got a new 97 & have had several since then til my now 2021.

  5. Denyce all that is a weird coincidence. My 84 gave me more problems when some of the clearcoat on it started to peel. About that time the 87 Trans Am GTA with the Corvette engine came out and I test drove one. That car was good enough to almost break me of my Corvette habit. I seriously considered buying one but yet I agonized over it for days. I finally decided I couldn’t go through with trading my Corvette for a Trans Am. Luckily next I came across a nice, low mile used 86 Corvette and traded my 84 for it. The 86 was much better than my problematic 84. After the 86 I ended up buying five more Corvettes including the C7 and C4 I now own and I’ve never looked back at getting out of Corvettes.
