Corvettes For Sale: 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition #70 Offered on Guys With Rides

The internet, more than any invention since the dawn of the automobile, completely revolutionized car buying. After being at the mercy of local dealers and print classifieds for ages, enthusiasts around the turn of the century were suddenly able to perform nationwide searches for the exact make, model, and options that they desired. Dealers utilized sites like Cars.com and Autotrader almost universally, while private sellers turned to multi-faceted platforms like eBay and Craigslist to outright sell their rides.

In recent years, the online auction has become the leading way to move something four-wheeled and desirable. The success and publicity of in-person bidding from companies like Mecum led to the meteoric rise of Bring a Trailer. In 2023, this fully-online auction hosting site is such a juggernaut of moving interesting metal that you’d be hard-pressed to find an automotive site that isn’t posting about BAT listings on a daily basis; the place is a content – and a literal – goldmine.

Like the glut of Netflix-impersonating streaming services that all hit the market a couple of years ago, aspiring entrepreneurs have taken note, and they are hungry for a piece of BAT’s pie! Doug and Hagerty are in on the action, and our friends at 427Stingray have even capitalized on the trend with a more targeted approach to the BAT formula. All of these newcomers have re-complicated the process of car hunting to the point that people have to rely on internet sleuths like their friendly neighborhood CorvetteBloggers to comb through all of the minutiae for them.

In that spirit, we would like to introduce the Corvette nuts that make up our readership to another player in this growing space that will have our undivided attention for the next week. Corvette Nation, meet Guys with Rides. GWR is currently hosting a live and reserve-laden (sorry, bargain shoppers!) auction for one of the finest Carbon Edition Z06s that we’ve seen since unearthing that seven-mile “barn find” a few years back. It wears VIN 70 out of the 252 blue/orange masterpieces minted in 2011, and its selling original owner has turned over the odometer fewer than 8,500 times since taking delivery, making it one of the best survivors out there.

Making this gem even more enticing is the fact that it’s wearing the twice-as-rare Inferno Orange racing suit (one of 85 so ordered). #70 also checks the final box on this particular Carbon-crazy blogger’s list; the door numbers were never installed – giving the car a cleaner, better look – and, along with the original window sticker/documentation, car cover, battery tender, and Styrofoam ceramic brake protectors, the unused stickers are included in the sale. The one asterisk hovering over this otherwise mint Carbon is the fact that it had to go under the proverbial knife to have a new dash installed after the original display failed. We don’t think that lessens the value at all, and this should still bring a healthy six digits, but it might matter to certain collectors, so it was worth a mention.

Bidding is open until 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on April 5th. Best of luck to all interested parties; a specimen like this hitting the market has become an increasingly uncommon occurrence; grab this one while you can!

  1. I love it! I’ve always been a sucker for orange Corvettes and I especially like Inferno Orange Metallic on the Corvette and Camaro.

  2. Does it have the original valve guides? Crap shoot if and when it happens. I believe the C6 Zs that have had head work are worth more.
