Today marks the start of Corvettes at Carlisle and we are blessed to once again be at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, PA for what will sure be another exciting show.
I got in late afternoon on Wednesday and did a quick walkover to see some of the Corvette show cars that will be on display inside the GM Engineers tent on the Manufacturer’s Midway. The first car we saw was the new Corvette Grand Sport X shown in the new Pitch Gray Metallic, Blue Hashmarks, and Blue Calipers behind the visible Carbon Fiber wheels.
Joining the Grand Sport X is a Blade Silver ZR1, a Blade Silver Z06, and a Torch Red Stingray. We are assuming a ZR1X and a Grand Sport show car will be there. The Grand Sport cutaway car is coming as well as we overheard GM’s car wranglers discussing where it was going in the tent.
The other really big news from Carlisle are the two 1963 Corvette Grand Sports that will be on display. They are already here and are set up inside their own tent next to where you see the Corvette Challenge Cars every year. Here is Lance Miller showing off the two cars on Wednesday:
We are also looking forward to seeing the cool Chip’s Choice collection of “Family Heirloom” cars, and we think the Mr. Corvette contest is going to be a lot of fun as well.
Just a quick note also to say that posting articles during the show is pretty tough, but we’ll try to get up anything we can.
