At last, a classic Corvette where everything works — yes, even the clock and the air conditioning.
This 1964 Corvette coupe has popped up on Craigslist out of Crestwood, Kentucky, wearing Silver Blue over Dark Blue and carrying an asking price of $71,500.
The seller claims just 39,000 miles on the numbers matching 327/300 hp V8 and M20 four speed, though no documentation comes with the car. The condition, however, makes the claim believable: crisp paint, a clean interior, straight fiberglass, cold Vintage Air, and chrome that still shines. Body fitment looks right, and the car fires, runs, and drives without complaint.
Chevrolet had already abandoned the controversial split-window by ’64, but not everyone was thrilled with the change. Coupe production dipped to 8,304 units, down from the 10,594 built during the split-window’s lone year. Even so, the Sting Ray’s appeal didn’t fade — and this example shows why.
The color combination is a knockout. Silver Blue remains one of the most flattering hues ever sprayed on a C2, and the Dark Blue interior gives the car a calm, tailored look that’s aged remarkably well over 62 years.
The seller calls it “really nice” and a “turn key car ready to drive and enjoy,” and based on the photos and details, that doesn’t feel like an exaggeration.
