We reported a few days ago about the exterior and interior of the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, based on an apparent mistake by GM that revealed some details about the car on the Chevy Visualizer.

Now comes word today in an exclusive report on GM Authority that the first hybrid Corvettes ever will also be sold overseas with right-hand drive.

That’s really not surprising since the Stingray and Z06 versions are already being sold with right-hand drive in places like Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

It’s believed that the new all-wheel drive E-Ray will combine the Stingray’s 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine with two independently controlled electric motors powering the front wheels.

That should result in a total of some 600 horsepower, or about halfway between the Stingray and the Z06.

A prototype of the E-Ray has already been photographed in July running on the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany, and another such test car burned in Spain apparently from an oil leak in the engine bay, though GM says that car had equipment that won’t ultimately be on the production version.

The E-Ray will feature a widebody treatment similar to the Z06’s and is expected to be available in coupe and convertible versions.

  1. WHY????!!!! What a joke, GM can’t even keep up here let alone find reliable part suppliers so why offer it to any other country?? I don’t get it. Leave it to GM to possibly screw up a good thing.
