We always get excited when the new colors for the next model year are revealed, and three new colors appear to be headed for the 2024 Corvettes based on yesterday’s E-Ray leak. One of those new colors is called Cacti Green, which we think will look pretty good on the C8 Mid-Engine sports car.

Earlier this year, Chevrolet attempted to do an NFT Auction of a Minted Green Z06, so the thinking was that if a new Green was slated for the C8, it might be this one. The Minted Green color is far more outlandish than this new Cacti Green, and it’s also much different than the previous Lime Rock Green that appeared just one year on the 2014 Corvettes. I still don’t think we’ve seen the last of Minted Green, though, so perhaps that is still a future color under consideration.

The visualizer is never the best place to see new colors as the colors always seem to be “off” just slightly from how they will appear in the real world. And of course, different monitors seem to produce the colors differently as well. The Cacti Green renderings from the visualizer leak show the green as a lighter color. “Smurf C8” at the MidEngineCorvetteForum captured these visualizer pics of the new Cacti Green and the close-up photo also shows the exterior paired with the new Artemis interior color which appears to us to be a dark green.

However, to get a better “real-world” look at the Cacti Green exterior, we turn to the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax SUV. This new vehicle will be available next spring, and we have some great-looking renderings from Chevrolet that give us a better look. I would say it’s almost an army green shade, but it’s hard to say whether or not this is a flat color like Amplify Orange and Rapid Blue, or if there will be some metallic flake showing.

The Cacti Green does lend itself well to the contrasting black and chrome here on the ’24 Trax, and we think this color will outperform the Caffeine Metallic, which Cacti is replacing.

Historically, there has been a similar shade (similar to the Cacti’s visualizer color) offered on the 1960 Corvette. Our Detroit Bureau Steve Burns captured this Cascade Green a couple weeks back at the MCACN show. It was a very rare color with just 140 made:

We’ve checked around to the usual sources of paint info looking for more on these three new colors coming in 2024. What’s your opinion on this color when see on the Trax? Let us know in the comments below.

[POLL] Should Chevrolet Offer ‘Minted Green’ on 2024 Corvettes?

  1. Thumbs up, I like it, but it won’t get many takers, like the Caffeine Metallic. It would grow on some folks, but that is not a “sport color”, the majority market for Corvettes.

  2. Another case of ‘give the customer the exact opposite of what they asked for’. They should have called it ‘Caca’.

  3. I prefer bolder colors, Bowling Green Matlallc is more my type of a green color.. It would look stunning on a C8. These soft, not sure of what the colors wants to be isn’t me.

  4. The Cascade green I am familiar with is a shade of turquoise and is one of my favorite colors. Not this pale mistake. Instead of offering one color that is just a big NO for all under 70, why not offer a new color that is a big YES! Obviously this green would not be a hit. And the Artemis green interior…will GM ever be able to sell enough to cover the quantity that they have agreed to purchase? Is GM still attempting to appease a geriatric crowd? Hint…take a look at what Lamborghini and McLaren offers…those are some bright colors appropriate for a near supercar.

  5. I’ve seen a 1960 Corvette in the Cascade Green and it looks very classy, wouldn’t mind having it. Chevrolet has offered colors such as this over the years that I’ve personally seen and I think they appeal to a unique buyer. I tell myself when I see one that some guy bought it for his wife to get a Corvette in the garage and then he counts on her saying you drive it tonight when we go out to dinner.

  6. I like this shade of green, it’s similar to one on the 1970 Chevelle. Not all of us prefer bright colors.

  7. In the pictures it looks like a 66 moss port green color, which is classy looking to me. I only owned one 66 mossport green convertible with the. Green interior, wish I still had it.

  8. Ugly color. The Corvette team is doing it all wrong if they want to offer green on the Corvette. That very cool looking Minted Green is the only shade of green I’d like to see them go with.

  9. I would love to see green on a new corvette to me that the wrong color green we want lime rock green or, forest green with flakes and pearl in it even a candy green GM can you hear me.

  10. That New Cacti green looks like The color of a Dinagel bottle and medicine you take when you want to vomit! Why? It’s Attitude in the wrong hands! Why not come out with a Jade pearl green or carribian blue, or tropical green. Any color that has a name that sounds like it wants to bite you like riptide or cacti to be a thorn in your side is terrible!even wolf grey come on positive vibes we have just been through a pandemic quit the selfishness and give the people what they want at lest the color! If not it’s car wrap or bust. Lol now a purple that is like the flat green would be better but a purple pearl metallic Tricoat would be best with depth and showing off the c8 angles better

  11. Cactus PUKE!

This color will sell and last about as long as Caffeine Brown poo!

“There is no accounting for taste” – Unknow

Except when they don;t sell any, lol…

  12. Another one (or possibly two) year only color. They will sell a few for sure. But the popularity of this color will be minimal just as Polo Green Metallic, Fairway Green Metallic and Lime Rock Green Metallic were. The owners of those cars with this new color will be able to brag that they have a car with a very “rare” color. But, some things are rare for a reason.

  13. If the cacti interior had black on it somehow like the sides or tubing that would be cooler looking 😀

  14. Low volume color………….Not very many buyers for this color –These folks need to move forward and select colors that will drive sales…………Poor Choice

  15. I think they offer a lot of colors that will drive sales. It’s in fact nice that they offer a few offbeat colors to those who want to be a little more eccentric even if it is subdued. That GM has a color or two that cater to the few I say, kudos to them.

  16. MINT GREEN WAS THE OBVIOUS CHOICE. Whoever is in charge of choosing colors (Bennion?) needs to be “retired” ASAP. Mint Green, a matte black, and some exotic metallic colors, along with a traditional metallic silver, Laguna Blue and Sebring Orange need to be made available. If they can’t figure it out on their own, just look towards Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Mclaren. This is really pathetic.

  17. How exactly do we get a look at Riptide Blue or Sea Wolf Gray in person ASAP? The press and media pre-production cars for the Equinox and Blazer EVs have the Riptide Blue. Where can we see them in person?

  18. LOOK AT THE #’s, any shade of green has always had poor sales. No green for me, Hypersonic Gray on my C8 and will be on my Z07.

  19. I’m not sure why Gm didn’t carry over the Pearl White instead of the carbon flash. From what I understood the Pearl White was in much greater demand.

This pale green is very uninspiring and does evoke the passion of the Corvette, that their buyers have come to expect over the last 70 years. I expect it will fade away shortly after it’s introduction. Hopefully, GM will introduce new more vibrant colors in the green and purple family that may attract the more aggressive and passionate buyer, similar to their euro competition.

  20. I really like the Cacti Green. Bright Corvette colors attract too much attention from LEOs.
If/when I trade up I would consider the Cacti Green. I also like National Forest Service green.
What I don’t like are “GREEN” cars. Long live ICE cars..
