Corvette Values: Someone Just Flipped a 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 for $290,000

If the market is going this crazy over the outrageous C8 Corvette ZR1, can you imagine the uproar over the even more powerful ZR1X when it debuts?

While everyone waits for the X to drop, an impatient enthusiast just forked over $290,000 for a 2026 ZR1 with five miles on the odometer in a Bring a Trailer auction. With its 5.5-liter LT7 twin-turbo engine, the latest ZR1 produces 1,064 horsepower and 824 lb-ft of torque. Properly outfitted, it can zoom from 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 233mph.

The recent auction price for this Black over Jet Black 3LZ coupe represents a profit of nearly $70,000 for the owner, if he was able to pay the original sticker price of $220,745 – which includes nearly $30,000 worth of options like the ZTK performance package, the ZR1 carbon-fiber aero kit, and front lift. Of course, the Bring a Trailer fees (which top out at $7,500, about half what they would be if figured at the usual 5 percent) will cut into that profit a little.

Still, not a bad way to earn more than $60,000 in a very short period of time, huh?

Per General Motors, by the way, reselling the car to a subsequent owner within 12 months of the original purchase date in October 2025 renders the vehicle warranty null and void for all future owners. Of course, if you can afford to pay nearly $300,000 for a car in the first place, what’s another few bucks to fix something whenever it breaks?

Whenever the ZR1X finally starts very limited production, however, expect that $290K to look like a bargain-basement price.

  1. The $60k ‘profit’ ignors the massive sales tax that had to be paid on $220,000. Depending on state, $15-$20 k.
No Chevy dealer is selling in a resale certificate that excludes collection sales tax.
Still a nice profit, but not $60.

  2. I think the amount is less than expected. Soon, when Chevy starts producing more ZR1s – which they will – prices might be at sticker or lower. And, reading from Chevy’s plans, the ZR1X , produced in fewer numbers, will be the car dealers use for rip-off ADMs.
