Nearly 12 weeks after the first Grand Sport X allocations were sent to dealers, Chevrolet has finally launched the official 2027 Corvette Grand Sport X Build and Buy Configurator on Chevrolet.com
The online configurator is such an important tool for new Corvette buyers especially as the number of options has grown exponentially over the years, and trying to place an order without it can be very difficult. But it’s here now so let’s take a closer look.
The new 2027 Corvette Grand Sport X starts at $112,195 for the 1LT Coupe or $119,195 for the 1LT Convertible. That’s a $7,900 increase over where the starting E-Ray prices from its 2024 inaugural year. However, it’s not an apples-to-apples comparison as the new GSX offers both the new LS6 V8 rated at 535 hp plus it gets the 186-hp front electric motor from the ZR1X for a total of 721 combined horsepower versus the E-Ray’s 655 hp.
In its base configuration, the Grand Sport X is offered with Carbon Ceramic brakes, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, and Michelin’s all-season tires. The only performance package available is the “Sport Performance Package” which swaps the all-season Michelin’s to the high-performance Pilot Sport 4S tires for $500 more.
Chevrolet doesn’t allow any of the Z06’s Carbon Aero package and instead the only wing option is the three-stanchion high wing in Carbon Flash Metallic for $2,075. However, ground effects are offered in both Visible Carbon Fiber and Carbon Flash Metallic, but if you do select those options, you’re now dependent upon your dealer receiving a favorable constraint report to get your order customized with Carbon Fiber accessories. Chevrolet does have a new extended front splitter in Carbon Flash Metallic for $995 which is a nice alternative to the pricey (and hard to order) Carbon Fiber version.
For our first configurator build, I basically tried to recreate the same options and equipment on my 2025 Corvette E-Ray Convertible 3LZ and came out about $6,000 more than what I paid nearly two years ago. However, as this model is an acutal Grand Sport X, I went back and created a true version with the Admiral Blue Exterior with White Stripes and Red Hash Marks, plus I added the one-year-only launch interior. Now, the configurator doesn’t call it the “Launch Interior” until after you add it, so look for the “Santorini Blue Dipped with Torch Red accents” selection under interiors which adds the Launch Edition Interior to your build. It can also be added under the “Options” tab as well. Thankfully, you can add the Stealth Interior and the Level 1 Carbon Fiber interior while also having the Launch Interior, so those options were added as well.
I also added the Center Quad Exhaust for $1,995 plus I configured it with the optional Bright Polished Exhaust Tips for an additional $395. Front Lift is also a must and that added $2,995. Just for kicks since I’m playing with the House’s money, I went ahead with the Convertible Engine Appearance Package which adds $1,195 plus an additional $595 for a Red LS6 engine cover. And finally, don’t forget to add the Battery Protection Package for $100.
With all those selections made, I have $14,495 in optional equipment and when combined with the 3LT Convertible price of $127,350 plus a $2,495 Delivery Charge, my very well-optioned Grand Sport X comes in with an MSRP of $148,225. We did find a couple of options listed that shouldn’t be here based on recent updates to the 2027 Corvette Order Guide. The configurator was showing availability for both the Illuminated Crossed Flags emblem and the Jake Carbon Fiber Engine Brace, both of which are “Not available at this time” for ordering.
I also experienced a few “first day” hiccups with the configurator as some images didn’t load correctly after adding or deleting an option. Anytime that happened, I just hit the “Summary” button and my changes were there.
So finally after nearly 12 weeks since the first GSX allocations were sent out to dealers, customers can now build and configure their very own dream Grand Sport Xs at Chevrolet.com.

I forgot about that illuminated crossed flag emblem. Kinda cute. I initially tried to order that option on my 2026 ZR1 back in January but it wasn’t available then either. That’s ok. The car runs fine without it. Lol.
The irony of GM smushing the E-Ray behind “GSX” badging and all but erasing the lines between the glorified poser-mobile and a truly unique AWD offering….only to then tell the the GSX buyers that they can’t option a Z07 wing, unlike the GS buyers.
Said it before and I’ll say it again. GM hates the AWD corvette and all of its buyers. I wish we had a giant “reset” button that would force GM to give Cadillac all of the AWD variants.
I noticed that there are specific trim pieces that differ between asymmetric Santorini and regular Santorini interior. Look at the areas underneath the screens; those trim panels are blue on asymmetric and black on regular Santorini. No idea why. Blue definitely looks better there.
