Boost District returned again to the Texas Motorplex for a private track event to test a new twin turbo set up on their C8 Corvette Stingray. What makes this turbo kit different than the other versions done by the Texas tuning company is that it features a unique roof exit design for the turbos.
Is the world ready to see flames shooting out of the engine hatch of a C8 Corvette? Let’s find out!
Rohan owns this Black C8 Corvette Stingray and it’s been his development car since taking delivery in 2020. The car does have its original engine but the supercharger that was previously on it has been replaced with a top mount turbo kit. He says that it took months of development and now it features a McLaren-style roof exit that is installed through one of the OEM hatch vents on each side of the engine bay window.
On its first and only pass in the video, it runs a 9.86-second quarter mile at 138.50 mph, but Rohan says it was sketchy, and he even lets off right at the end of the run. They used three different cameras to record the run including a deck mounted 360 camera that captured flames shooting through the rear hatch exits.
Unfortunately, further testing of the car that evening was interrupted by a light rain which closed the track.
The flame effects are pretty cool, but it appears the Boost District Crew will have to do some further testing and refining this build as they do plan to offer it to other C8 Corvette owners.
This was a closed event, but Boost District did invite some friends along with their high performance Corvettes (and the one guy who just got a Porsche Turbo S). A couple of the guys were new to drag racing, so there was some discussion of drag racing techniques and understanding the starting line procedures.

Today, We get to unveil and TRACK TEST our C8 Corvette Top Mount Turbo kit. We have been working on this for MONTHS and have finally made it to the testing stages on showing this kit off to you guys!
It has been a very fun project to showcase and an idea that started off in a napkin drawing, to seeing the ZR1 spy shots, to now a reality that you all have seen here first!

Can’t stand to listen to him. No one in their right mind would put his “kit” on their car when a factory twin turbo car (ZR1) is faster and would (probably) cost less.
@Ronnie, this car puts down near the same trap time as a ZR1 and even if the whole kit installed was $30,000 it would still be over $60,000 less expensive than a no option ZR1. The only thing more valuable about the ZR1 at that point regarding the turbos is that it’s a factory warranty.
