Lingenfelter Performance Engineering – a name long associated with Corvettes – is consolidating its operations, the company announced this week.
After “careful consideration,” Lingenfelter says it is closing its original facility in Decatur, Indiana and streamlining all operations at its state-of-the-art headquarters about 200 miles north in Wixom, Michigan.
“We are immensely proud of our team in Decatur and are extending opportunities for them to continue their careers with us in Wixom,” the company said in a statement. “Their expertise and dedication remain a valued part of our future.”
Calling the decision the start of “the next chapter” for the company, Lingenfelter says it is committed to delivering world-class products and exceptional customer service, adding “we firmly believe this transition will strengthen our ability to do both.”
Lingenfelter joins other performance and specialty automotive firms in a move to consolidate resources into fewer, more advanced facilities, allowing engineering and customer-facing services to be more tightly integrated.
Founded in 1973, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has become a globally recognized brand in the performance engineering industry. The company offers engine building, engine and chassis tuning components and installation for vehicle owners; component product development; services to manufacturers, aftermarket and original equipment suppliers; prototype and preparation of product development vehicles; late product life-cycle performance improvements; durability testing; and show and media event vehicles.
Lingenfelter has built a reputation for advanced tuning and custom builds for Corvette, Chevrolet, and Cadillac platforms. The company offers performance parts for C5 through C8 Corvettes, as well as Camaro, GM SUVs and trucks, Chevy SS, Cadillac CTS-V, CT5-V Blackwing, and ATS-V.

Sign of the times. Many US companies in business are doing the same to try to stay afloat. Worked for 40 years at a large multi national company and they cut 10% of jobs just after I retired.
