[VIDEO] Evolution of the C8 Corvette Buyer's Gift from GM

We just got our first look at the new gift from General Motors for those who purchase a new E-Ray and it’s about the coolest one yet in our opinion. As we discussed, Chevy provides a personalized model as a thank you to those who have purchased a new Corvette. They are called “Speed Shape” models and they are customized with the owner’s VIN and the exterior color of the Corvette.

With each new Corvette model released, GM comes out with a new Speed Shape model for those buyers. Some enthusiasts have been fortunate to own all three C8 models including YouTuber Geared Media who we’ve featured before here and here. He just got his E-Ray gift from GM and takes the time to show the evolution of all three thank you packages.

Each of the models has a magnetic attraction to its base, and all three bases are as different as the models they hold. While the YouTuber didn’t have the box and documentation for the Stingray which he purchased in 2020, he did have it for the Z06 and E-Ray. The Z06 has the nicest presentation with a multiple page brochure with the owner’s exterior color also presented as the first and last pages of the book. The E-Ray’s documentation is a foldout brochure style document with the various point about the E-Ray’s powertrain and one of the launch photos on the rear makes for a great poster. Both contain a welcome letter and invitation to the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School.

  1. As much as new Corvettes cost nowadays, giving the buyers this nice “free” gift is the least GM can do.
