GM Sending Thank You Cards and Welcome Kits Following 2020 Corvette Purchases

Owners of the new 2020 Corvette recently began to receive a 2020 Corvette Speed Shape Models from General Motors in appreciation for their purchase. The models have proven to be a big hit with customers, with each including a personal thank you letter and the speed shape model painted the same color as the owner’s Corvette with a VIN plate on the display base that matches that particular Corvette.

The next thing new 8th Generation Corvette owners will receive from GM is a personal thank you card with links to ownership education websites, Ron Fellows Performance Driving School information, and a note from GM and the dealership where the car was ordered.

The note inside reads:

THANK YOU

Dear Jeremy Welborn,

Congratulations on being one of the first owners of the all-new, mid-engine 2020 Corvette.

The mid-engine 2020 Corvette is more than just a redesigning or reengineering. It’s a reimagining of what Corvette has always been and, more importantly, where it’s going. Bringing mid-engine performance and handling to Corvette is the culmination of eight generations of performance excellence and fulfills Corvette’s ultimate destiny as a world-class driver’s car.

Owning a Corvette is an experience unlike anything else. It’s our privilege to welcome you to the Corvette family. Be on the lookout for your official Corvette Welcome Kit, which will arrive soon.

Enjoy your new Corvette. We’ll see you out on the roads.

Sincerely,
Steve Majoros, U.S. Vice President, Chevrolet Marketing
Jason Witte, Sales Manager, Criswell Chevrolet

Receiving this variety of correspondence from GM is giving new Corvette owners the impression that GM is taking Corvette customer relations to a whole new level. I’m looking forward to receiving the official Corvette Welcome Kit next and will be sure to share the experience here as well.

Enjoy the Drive!

  1. Received my Accelerate Yellow C8 today after waiting >10 months. Extremely happy & pleased. It has been worth the wait. Now I wonder if Canadian customers will receive any of these “welcome gifts” from GM?! In the past we have received nothing!!

  2. Yes, Jeremy. I’m the proud owner of a C8. Even though this car was ordered optioned by an unknown-to-me customer at Rydell Chevrolet in interesting combination: Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic/Lt2/Z51/Mag-ride control/front axle lift/flash metallic central full length racing stripes/carbon-body color roof panel/body color accents rear and sides; and Dealer installed Genuine Chevrolet ground effects kit (sides and front splitter, carbon)/high wing black spoiler. Rydell Chevrolet received it (I haven’t received the code changes for this build, but the car appears to have reached Rydell, April 1, 2020. They started work on the car, finishing the first stage of dealer prep on April 2, 2020. I first saw it on-line for sale on April 12 and saw it in person twice on April 13, the second time officially with a salesman, with an appointment to see the car in the City of San Fernando, California on the lot at Rydell Dodge. The car was still, “new.” The salesman told me that someone from Riverside County was on his way to look at the car. However, I did not need any further incentive. I happily paid all that extra dough to make sure I had a 2020 C8 mid-engine Corvette Stingray and I signed away whatever was put in front of me. I was not able to take delivery until the following afternoon around 2:30 or 3 P.M. I actually have photos of my taking delivery while wearing Covid-19 masks. My letters and model Corvette with magnetic base and VIN arrived two days ago. 07/14/2020. I am appreciative that GM/Chevy/Corvette is and are taking these steps and I really did not expect it, since I wasn’t the one who optioned the car. AF

  3. I agree Yes, GM ought to be sending the same things to allow all the people that had orders for the 2020 model but will have to settle for 2021’s. I’ll been waiting 12 months now. Its going to be 2021 model I wanted a 2020 model.
