For the C8 generation, General Motors has really upped the quality of their “Thank You” gifts to new Corvette owners. While previous buyers of new C7 Corvettes received a thank you letter and a poster, C8 Corvette buyers have been gifted these “Speed Shape” models and they keep updating the style based on the model of Corvette that was purchased.
Now we know what the Corvette E-Ray gift looks like as the first were delivered to new owners over the weekend.
The models for the C8 Stingray and widebody Z06 are painted in the same exterior color of the car that was ordered by the owner, and it includes a thank you letter and the owner’s VIN.
For the E-Ray, General Motors is offering a see-thru “Speed Shape” model that shows off the E-Ray’s unique powertrain. Within the widebody model is the LT2 V8 in the rear, the 1.9kW battery pack in the middle, and the E-Ray’s electric motor up front while the base shows off the owner’s VIN. A tri-fold brochure touts the E-Ray’s creds as being the quickest production Corvette ever while also including info on the standard ceramic brakes and the standard all-season Michelin tires.

We think these are pretty cool and kudos to GM for showing off the E-Ray’s hybrid AWD within the model. What do you think of these new Speed Shape gifts for the E-Ray? Let us know in the comments below!

We saw another new E-Ray owner has posted his gift from GM and it shows something else. Chris Abeln has a Riptide Blue 2024 E-Ray and on the Speed Shape model, the base under the glass model is Riptide as well. In the example above, that owner’s E-Ray is Black:

I take it from the latter photos that the portion of the base that is directly below the clear model is painted the same colour that the E-Ray was ordered, so that the clear model has the correct hue when sitting in the base. Nice!
Will GM also be giving the certificate for Spring Mtn Corvette driving school with the purchase of the E Ray? Which of course then leads to the next question……will Spring Mtn start offering an E Ray school?
For the price you need to pay for a new ERay, I hope it’s Waterford Crystal, at the very least.
Very nice touch – the buyers of pricey cars are deserving of a little memento beyond a dealer key fob.
Gm’s way of promoting a very expensive product that has not met their sale goals and/or expectations?
In other words, A “gimmick” An ingenious or novel device, scheme, or stratagem, especially designed to attract attention or increase appeal.

No E-Ray for me.
My 2024 Corvette stingray was delivered to Canada. I have not yet received any notice of the gift /model /letter of thanks of my car. Who would I contact?
