Final Day for 2023 Z06 Orders is Today, and Chevy has Revised Start of 2024s on September 12th

Today we got some updates regarding the final 2023 Corvette orders as well as info about the start of 2024. Our screenshots come from Chevy dealer Ken Fitchner who posted them to the MidEngineCorvetteForum.

According to these official Chevrolet documents, today is the final day for ordering a 2023 Corvette Z06. We reached out to dealers and found only one who was given a couple of bonus Z06 allocations today, so we are really unsure what kind of quantities will be entered today. The screenshot also suggests that the Corvette Assembly Plant is filled with orders through July 31st, and final Stingray orders have also been scheduled.

Unless there are some additional bonus allocations offered in the coming weeks, we would say that the 2023 model year looks to be all locked up.

2023 Model Year Production

One change for the 2023 model year is that it will now end on September 12th instead of September 1st. Is Chevy going for the Corvette production record as we have previously suggested? That record is 53,807 held by the 1979 model year, and that would be a huge coup for the production team should they be able to pull that off..

As for the 2024 model year, the Start of Regular Production (SORP) has also been pushed back to Tuesday, September 12th, so they are expecting the end of the ’23s and the start of the ’24s to happen on the same day.

2024 Corvette Key Dates

There will be three separate allocation groups for each of the three Corvette models (Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray). Dealers are getting their first estimated shipments (allocations) on July 20th for the Stingray and Z06, while the E-Ray allocations will drop on August 10th.

Next week will be the first order cycle for the 2024 Corvettes and it will only include the Stingray and Z06. The first E-Ray order cycle will happen on August 17th.

Regarding current production numbers, Roger Keil’s excellent spreadsheet shows that Chevrolet has built 45,937 total 2023 Corvettes. The current breakdown as of Wednesday is 37,588 regular Stingrays and 3,940 70th Anniversary Stingrays, plus 3,726 Regular Z06s and 683 70th Anniversary Z06s. That total number keeps us in sixth place all-time for Corvette production by model years.
