Yesterday, as we were working to track down all the pricing information for the 2024 Corvette model year that began to leak out, we also learned that Chevrolet had provided some additional 2023 Z06 allocations to select dealers. As these were granted outside the regular order cycle, we’ll call them bonus allocations.

We heard that some of these bonus allocations were fairly substantial, and they also included the ability to order both the 70th Anniversary Package and the Carbon Fiber Aero that is required for the Z07 Performance Package. If you got the call yesterday from your dealer, congratulations!

As of today, there are exactly seven weeks left for production in the 2023 model year.

Taking a quick peek at the production numbers, we are currently seeing 40,955 Stingrays and 4,197 Z06s produced so far. That’s a total of 45,152 for the model year. That total also includes 4,541 70th Anniversary models (3,884 Stingray/657 Z06).

With the current total of 45,152 Corvettes produced so far for 2023, that’s good enough to the put the 2023 model year in the top 10 of model year production and currently at 6th place:

1984: 51,547
1979: 53,807
1977: 49,213
1978: 46,776
1976: 46,558
2023: 45,152
2016: 40,689
2007: 40,651
1980: 40,614
1981: 40,606

Will the 2023 Corvette make it into the top three? We ran the numbers back at the beginning of June that estimated the plant completing just over 50,000 vehicles for the model year, and that would be a fantastic milestone to accomplish.

  1. I sincerely hope the allocations went to dealers selling at MSRP and not to the dishonest dealers selling at “market price”. Didn’t get a Z06 after waiting more than 3 years due to GREED!

  2. I would love to know if they only sent those allocations to the good dealers who charged MSRP to the customer.

I went on a factory tour friday and they are really hoping to break that 50K mark.

  3. I don’t know, I think GM should not limit what cars they sell, because if someone wants purchase a Car they should be able to buy it no matter what. I’m just getting so tired of all these games. If there doing it to make cars collectibles, who Really cares. I don’t think at this day and age most people don’t care about collectibles.
