[VIDEO] Raiti's Rides Pits a 2020 Corvette Against a Lingenfelter Camaro ZL1 1LE

With zero natural competitors in the domestic market (or anywhere, really), the eighth-generation Corvette, once again, finds itself forced into battle with a steroidal, front-engined pony car.

This time, courtesy of our friends at the Dream Giveaway, the rare, high-wing-equipped Z51 Stingray finds its sparring partner sitting directly across the showroom, in the form of the top-dog Camaro ZL1 1LE. To make things even more interesting, this 1LE has had it’s already potent LT4 V8 massaged to 720 horsepower and 730 lb-ft of torque by the mad tuners at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and it is all exclusively brought to you by Joe Raiti from YouTube channel, Raiti’s Rides. The video is a stout 34 minutes and 46 seconds, what follows can act as a spotter’s guide for our readers who care not for Camaros, or simply don’t have that kind of time on their hands and wish to jump around.

After some introductory pleasantries, Joe gets right down to business with one of the more comprehensive C8 exterior walk-arounds we’ve seen. It does switch back and forth a bit, moving to the front of the Camaro, and its gorgeous, Anderson Composites dive planes, splitter, and grille insert, at 3:10 (the Lingenfelter branding behind the “flowtie” is another thoughtful touch!).

It’s back to the ‘Vette at 5:19 for a look at the side and rear-end design. If you want to skip ahead when you see the ZL1 again, jump to 12:31, where Joe will pop the hatch for a look at the Corvette’s mid-mounted LT2 heart. Next, is a look at the Camaro’s overly stylized engine bay, followed by some gratifying revs from both cars (this starts at 14:56 for those of you attempting to make this a ‘Vette-only video).

At this point, in the name of honesty, I, your humble author, feel the need to disclose something; while obviously passionate about Corvettes, it is the ZL1 1LE that currently lays claim to the title of my favorite car on sale but, 15:48 into the video, when Joe hops inside the C8, my devotion to Camaro takes a sizable hit.

Even today, more than a year after first seeing the interior of the latest rendition of America’s sport car, I’m floored each time I revisited it! It amazes me that the ZL1 is made by the same company and is offered at a similar price point to this thing. The difference in interior quality is mind boggling, to say the least.

After an embarrassing (save for that glorious shift knob protruding from the center console) look at the Camaro’s insides, the 23:02 mark is where Joe finally takes the cars for a spin, starting with the new kid on the block. Here, his enthusiasm is contagious as he trips around the streets surrounding the Dream Giveaway Garage.

The final minute of the video sees Joe pick the car that gets his motor running the most, which we won’t spoil here but once you are done watching, don’t forget that both of these exquisite vehicles from Chevrolet Performance could be yours. You can score double entries on all donations over $25. Enter to win the 2020 Corvette as well as its 1962 Corvette Restomod, or use Joe’s promo code, “raitisrides” to score double entries on all donations over $25 on the Camaro, and let us know which one tops your wish list in the comments section. As always, thanks for reading CorvetteBlogger!
