[VIDEO] The Gnarly Sounds of a Twin-Turbo 2020 Corvette by Extreme Turbo Systems

We’ve been showing you wild mods that designers have been rendering for the new C8.

Today, we hear – literally – about a new performance setup for the mid-engine Corvette that will reside underneath that skin, courtesy of Extreme Turbo Systems.

Check out this video to hear a preview of what a Torch Red 2020 Corvette Stingray sounds like with ETS’ first C8 system said to feature a pair of PT6870 turbochargers, PT46mm wastegates, and PTE 50mm blow-off valves supplied by Precision Turbo. Let us know what you think about the sound.

That means a mid-engine Corvette so modified could be capable of producing horsepower into the four figures, and that would be more than double the 495 horsepower of the stock Stingray! Although the factory ECU has apparently not been cracked by tuners yet, ETS says it has a solution to that, with some believing it might be a Motec-supplied ECU.

ETS says tuning will begin in the next couple of weeks. We’re eager to see what this company, which offers packages for a wide range of cars, including Lamborghini Huracans and Nissan GT-Rs, comes up with for the C8.

Let the performance wars begin!

  1. The more options the better. Corvette owners are known for spending money to upgrade their Corvettes, so if the product is good, there should be no risk coming out with the new materials and they should sell quite a number of modifications. We should like to hear reports regarding the mods, the performance numbers and the comparisons among them. The more upgrade and performance options that we can have, the better.

  2. Doesn’t sound “gnarly” to me. Rather anemic, in fact, a little like a stressed 2-stroke. Maybe you had to have been there.
