1964 Corvette Stolen During Woodward Dream Cruise

For the second straight year, a classic midyear Corvette was stolen while its owner enjoyed the sights and sounds of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Birmingham, Michigan. It was just last year that an $80,000 dark blue 1966 Convertible was stolen following the famous cruise. This year, Birmingham Police are investigating the theft of a Riverside Red 1964 Corvette Convertible stolen Saturday morning.

According to police, the owner had parked the Corvette around 10:30 am on Ruffner Avenue off Woodward Avenue between 14 and 15 Mile Roads and walked away, leaving the convertible top down. The Corvette was missing when he returned about 20 minutes later.

The Corvette was registered in Ontario and had a license plate that read 6T4VET. Although Police report multiple sightings of the red Convertible Corvette on the expressway, no credible leads have turned up.

Stolen 1970 Red Corvette VIN 194670S401895

Ron’s 1970 Corvette was stolen from Brisbane, California on Sunday, July 20th. Stories of Corvettes stolen from their owners are always bad, but this one struck a nerve as the owner is a disabled veteran who owned the car for 32 years and had plans to leave it to his daughter when he can no longer drive.

The Corvette is 1970 Convertible with a 454 ci engine. The VIN is 194670S401895 and the California license plate reads CALIF70. The Corvette is painted a custom Candy Apple Red. Other distinguishing features include side exhaust, custom wheels with BF Goodrich T/A tires and a crossed-flags front license plate.

If you have any information about this Corvette, please call San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, 650-222-5034.

We feel for you Ron and hope that this helps.

Stolen 1959 Corvette VIN J59S100698

I received the following email last night from Jessica in Ronkonoma, New York about a 1959 Corvette that was stolen from her home garage last week. While I hope this post will help get the word out about the Corvette, my main purpose is to make sure the VIN from the Corvette comes up in Google and other search engines as belonging to a stolen Corvette. If you are familiar with this Corvette or hear anything about VIN #J59S100698 please contact Jessica directly.

Dear Keith,

My uncle found out he had cancer and died within two months, in December of ’07. Everything happened so quickly and before we knew it, my family was dealing with this tragic loss. He left behind a 1959 red corvette convertible as a family heirloom. My uncle didn’t have kids and he was never married. He saved his whole life to buy this car. On March 21, 2008, this car was stolen from our home garage in Ronkonkoma, NY. We have tried everything to get this car recovered, from airing interviews on local tv and radio stations to passing out 1,000 fliers and counting in the community.

Please help us get this car back. Can you post a blog about this car??

With kind thanks,

Jessica Pedersen
