Last month during an interview with Autoline, Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter flatly denied that Chevy was building a secret mid-engine sports car. But that hasn’t stopped the speculation that a new flagship mid-engine sports car wearing the cross-flag badges may be on the horizon.

To help fill in some details about the how a mid-engine Corvette might look like, Bold Ride turned to the concept designers at Hansen Arts to imagine a Corvette with the engine in the back.

Chevy Aims to Improve the Picture Quality of the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder

One of the most popular options on the 2015 Corvette Stingray and Z06 has to be the new Performance Data Recorder.

The Corvette PDR development was born out of Cosworth’s many years of working with the Corvette Racing Team to supply and support the full suite of motorsport electronics such as data loggers and Pi Toolbox analysis tools.

Discussions between Cosworth and General Motors about taking these racing products to the Chevrolet Corvette road car developed, and it soon became evident there was a tremendous opportunity to be first to market with a fully integrated road going Performance Data Recorder.

Since the PDR became available on 2015 models, feedback from Corvette customers and the media alike has been overwhelmingly positive, and the PDR picked up four best product awards at the CES show.

1957 Corvette Transformed from Basket Case to Bayou Cruiser

This beautiful 1957 red Corvette with white coves didn’t always look this great.

In fact, the master restorer who brought it back to life says it was “all busted up.”

As Mike McCabe of Busted Wrench Garage in Gulfport, Miss., put it, “It was a chopped up, drag racing car. It had holes in it and tires sticking out of the back.”

After taking the car apart and performing extensive “plastic surgery,” though, the classic Corvette is now a dream machine.

You know the feeling when you’re being egged on to engage the throttle and “light em up” when leaving a car show by that group of people who always congregate near the exits? We know we shouldn’t but sometimes the opportunity to show off for the crowd can be a hard thing to say no to. But you should say no because, strangely enough, bad things can happen with you stomp your right foot on the gas like the owner of this classic Corvette found out.

[VIDEO] North Texas Viper Club Blows Up a C4 Corvette with Tannerite and a .50 Caliber Machine Gun

Every year at Thanksgiving, we go up to our ancestorial stomping grounds in Southeastern Kentucky for family, food and fun. And sometimes that fun involves blowing up a pumpkin with tannerite, an explosive substance that ignites when shot with a gun.

So when I saw the North Texas Viper club using tannerite to blow up a C4 Corvette, I had to share this even if it involves the death of Corvette at the hands of a rival club. Just a couple ounces of tannerite will completely blow the kingdom come out of a pumpkin so I can only imagine what a larger amount could do to America’s favorite sports car.
