[VIDEO] English 'Farm Find' C4 Corvette ZR-1 Rescued and Gets First Wash

One of the fascinating things about Corvettes is their seemingly universal appeal.

Even older generations.

Take, for example, this C4 ZR-1 located by “The Late Brake Show” in, of all places, the United Kingdom, ironically enough only about 100 miles away from the Lotus facility where its powerful LT5 engine was co-designed with Chevy back in the ’80s.

The ZR-1 produced 375 horsepower from 1990-1992 with its four-overhead cam, 32-valve aluminum block V8 engine, earning quite a reputation for its reliability at high speed.

Fittingly, this one will get a chance to test that reputation after sitting outside on a UK farm for about 20 years, parked after the owner didn’t feel like paying taxes and insurance on a car he wasn’t using very much.

The new owners have already brought a non-running C5 back to life and now they’ve decided to tackle a much more ambitious project with this super-rare ZR-1, especially since less than 300 are said to have been exported to Europe during the six-year production of 6,939 built from ’90 to ’95 at the Bowling Green factory.

Watch the video to see how the guys manage to get it onto a trailer and then give it a bath for the first time in two decades. In the future, you will also be able to watch the progress of the restoration on YouTube at their channel called Auto_Funk.

Good luck to the new owners, and we’re eager to see another “King of the Hill” Corvette back on the road soon where it belongs.
