Coachbuilt Corvette from Ugur Sahin Design Makes Debut at Monaco

Last week’s Top Marques car show in Monaco saw the introduction of the Soleil Anadi, a coachbuilt Corvette designed and built through a partnership with Ugur Sahin and Spada Concepts. We’ve featured Sahin’s wonderfully radical designs here in the past, namely the Z03 that was to be a joint partnership with US tuner Mallet Cars. But this is the first prototype we’ve seen from him that has made the jump from vaporware to the real deal.

[PICS] 1976 Corvettes Customized on SPEED's Car Warriors

Last night on SPEED’s Car Warriors, the Challengers (red team) took on the All Stars (blue team) in the customizing build-off of two 1976 Corvettes and walked away with the win (as well as both cars). The All Stars vision for their Corvette was much more over the top then the Challengers, but it was the road test that probably sealed the win as the All Stars car was deemed “unsafe” to drive by all three judges. Our friends at SPEED sent us some additional photography of the cars taken during filming of the show and we’ll share them with you after the jump.

Tony DeLorenzo and the Hanley Dawson '67 L88 Corvette

When one spends $1.25 million on a vintage Corvette that has won Top Flight, Bloomington Gold and most recently the Triple Diamond award, the last thing any sane person would do is turn it into a race car and take it to the race track. But that’s exactly what Pro Team Corvette president Terry Michaelis and collector Chuck Ungurean have planned to do with the Corvette they purchased last August at Mecum’s Monterey auction. And who better to drive the race-prepped Hanley Dawson Chevrolet Corvette in vintage ’67 livery than the original driver and Corvette Hall of Famer Tony DeLorenzo.

The classic hod rod Vettes ranged from originals and restomods to full blown customs like the 1962 Corvette named “Elegance” that won a spot in the Ridler Great 8. Not to be outdone, later model Corvettes included the SEMA Z06x track Corvette and a sinister Black Lingenfelter C6 Convertible were also on full display. Even Jake was in the house!
