[VIDEO] Lingenfelter Dynos First Supercharged 2024 Corvette E-Ray

Since the 2024 Corvette E-Rays first hit the streets earlier this year, we’ve been excited to see what the tuners would be able to do with Chevy’s performance hybrid Corvette. The Corvette E-Ray already makes a combined 655-hp from its combination of the front electric motor and rear-mounted V8 engine. As many tuners already have years of experience in tuning the 495-hp LT2 motor, companies like Lingenfelter Performance Engineering could get right to work.

We had a teaser of Lingenfelter supercharging the first Corvette E-Ray, and through their social media platforms, we saw clips of the build and even a validation drive afterwards. But what we didn’t have until now is knowing just what the performance gains would be with a supercharger. With this particular Corvette being a Convertible, Lingenfelter mounted their low-profile Magnuson supercharger, while also working with Paragon Performance to install some additional options including a Fabspeed center-mounted exhaust and the Eventuri cold air intake.

With the modifications completed, the Corvette E-Ray once again hits the DynoJet where it came in at 734.27 whp and 792.66 lb-ft of torque. The torque from the electric motor is almost instantaneous as the dyno chart shows, and then it continues to go higher with the additional power from the supercharged LT2 engine.

While our curiosity has been satisfied with knowing what the new power levels are, what we are waiting for now is to see how those performance specs translate to the street, including the 0-60 mph launch and the quarter mile time. It’s a great time to be a Corvette E-Ray fan!

  1. Having a supercharger sounds great but for only an increase of 79 hp and with the cost of the modifications plus the supercharger in my opinion is not worth the extra cost which is not shared in this article. I know there are buyers with unlimited cash at their disposal, but the cost of a nicely equipped Eray is enough for me!

  2. HP increase isn’t the key. It’s the ~200 torque addition. Before it was making 550hp by 2500 rpm. It’s now making over 720 tq by 2500 rpm.

400hp before was at 3500 rpm. Now it’s about 2800 rpm. At 4000 rpm unmodified was making ~460hp. Modified is making over 600 hp. And at 5000 rpm, unmodified was making around 550hp. Modified is making 700hp.

So in most every scenario the car is putting down 150+ more hp and torque. Hp/lb was 13.9 unmodified. Modified is 17.9. A Ferrari 458 is 19.4…just for comparison. A stock C8 Z06 is 17.6.

    Impressive.

Let’s talk numbers: after strapping down the E-Ray to our AWD DynoJet, we unleashed the power of the front electric motors combined with the 6.2L LT2 V8 Engine for an impressive 573 whp & 630 lb ft of TQ!

THE ONLY QUESTION TO ASK YOURSELF – IS THE NEW 2024 CHEVROLET ERAY CORVETTE REQUIRING $35,000 FOR 161.27 MORE HORSEPOWER WITH THE LINGENFELTER SUPERCHARGER SYSTEM — OR IS 573 HORSEPOWER FROM CHEVROLET GOOD ENOUGH TO HAVE AN IMMENSE AMOUNT OF FUN DRIVING THE ERAY CONVERTIBLE??

THERE HAS TO BE SOMEBODY SMART ENOUGH TO JUST BE HAPPY WITH THEIR CORVETTE!
    THANKS FOR LISTENING.
    PEACE AND LOVE.

  4. These HP numbers are too high to use on the street, if you race that’s different. The HP chase has become unrealistic in regard to useable performance for most owners. I’ll stick with my base HP.

  5. Certainly they can turn up the boost. That gain is about right for a bolt on supercharger kit. An LT1 with a Lingenfelter TVS2650 kit makes right around 600 at the wheels (stock they make just over 400). 160 HP gain is a little low, but maybe they don’t use the 2650 or there are fueling limitations around the 600 mark. Then the electric motors are adding about 130 HP which lines up with a Stingray vs. ERay stock dyno. Maybe there’s still tuning limitations with the C8 ECM too.

As for WHY someone would do this… Because they want to. For some people modding the car is part of the fun. That’s why these companies exist. Yes there will be THOUSANDS of people just happy with their Corvette… But some folks want more and have the disposable income to do it, and that’s ok.

I mean … Why do you even NEED an ERay. Or a charger
Corvette at all? You can have an “immense amount of fun” in a Miata. I’m sure there are MANY more Miata owners at track days having way more fun than 99% of C8 owners anyway.

  6. billeeG, all you have to do is look at the original dyno sheet and the modified dyno sheet–and compare any given RPM.
