Corvettes for Sale: 1971 Corvette Stingray with LS5 V8 and Factory Air

For 35 years, the current owner has kept this big block, four speed, factory air 1971 Corvette Stingray T-top coupe garaged, maintained, and driven with purpose. Before that, it never left Washington state, tracing its lineage all the way back to its original sale in Blaine. Complete ownership history is included—a rarity in itself.

Now, someone else will have an opportunity to serve as the steward of this chrome-bumper Stingray being offered on Craigslist for $46,900 (or a possible trade for a 2020 or newer Silverado 1500 diesel) out of Federal Way, Washington.

What makes this car special isn’t just its longevity. It’s the completeness.

The Corvette retains its numbers matching drivetrain—the 454/365 horsepower LS5 V8, four speed manual transmission, and 3.08 Positraction rear end—along with original accessories such as the distributor, alternator, carburetor, and pulleys.

Other options include power steering, power windows, tilt telescopic steering wheel, AM/FM stereo, factory alarm, and luggage rack (included but not installed).

Originally coated in Bridgehampton Blue (code 979) over Black interior (code 400), the car carries one of the most elegant color combinations of the early C3 era, though it does come with a twist now.

A couple of years after purchasing the car in the late 1980s, the owner began a major restoration. Most of the work wrapped up about 30 years ago, but like any enthusiast will tell you, a Corvette is never truly “finished.” Over the decades, the car has continued to evolve—always respectfully, always with an eye toward preserving its original character.

Key restoration and update highlights include:

  • Complete engine and transmission rebuild, maintaining stock appearance with subtle performance improvements
  • Repaint in a custom mixed version of Bridgehampton Blue with candy like highlights
  • Refreshed interior with new seat covers, carpet, door panels, and weatherstripping
  • New chrome bumpers and emblems
  • Fully rebuilt suspension, front and rear
  • Stainless steel brake calipers with upgraded pistons
  • Numerous rebuilt or replaced mechanical components, including the carburetor, power steering system, and shocks

The odometer reads 46,7xx miles, but it has rolled over once. Roughly 30,000 miles have been added since the restoration began—mostly car shows, cruises, and careful pleasure drives, the seller says.

A car cover and padded T top storage bag are included.

It’s not always easy to find a big block, four speed, factory air C3 that has stayed in one region, with one owner for more than three decades, and with its originality so carefully preserved. How would this stunning Stingray look sitting in your own driveway?
