Corvettes for Sale: You Can Own the 2024 Corvette E-Ray VIN 001 for a Surprising Low Price

When Chevrolet unveiled the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, it marked a new era for America’s sports car—combining electrified technology with the raw performance Corvette fans crave.

But what happens when the very first E Ray ever built, VIN 001, suddenly appears on the market? That’s exactly the story unfolding in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Reeder Chevrolet has just acquired this historic convertible.

Most enthusiasts remember the headlines: Rick Hendrick paid $1.15 million for the first retail E Ray VIN 001 at auction. But this car is different. This VIN 001 was a Captured Test Fleet (CTF) vehicle, used by GM for display, media, and internal purposes before being released to the public.

According to GM, this E Ray was showcased at major consumer events like the Detroit Auto Show and the Rolex 24 at Daytona, then driven by a company employee as a corporate vehicle. It even saw duty during media drives in Colorado. Typically, VIN 001 cars are preserved for GM’s Heritage Center, making its availability to dealers—and now the public—a genuine surprise.

But you can expect quite a savings – more than $1,000,000 in fact – over the No. 1 retail version gobbled up by Hendrick. Offered now at “just” $105,000, this Arctic White convertible with 12,000 miles is loaded with premium features and performance packages:

  • Preferred Equipment Group 3LZ, including Bose Performance Series audio (14 speakers), HD vision cameras, heated/ventilated seats, Performance Data & Video Recorder, and advanced theft deterrent systems
  • Engine Appearance Package with Sterling Silver painted LT2 cover
  • Custom Leather Wrapped Interior Package with Tension Blue/Twilight Blue dipped Napa leather
  • Carbon Flash Painted Carbon Fiber Ground Effects and Carbon Fiber Interior Trim
  • Ceramic disc brakes front and rear
  • Electric Blue full length dual racing stripes
  • 20 inch front / 21 inch rear wheels carbon fiber wheels

Of course, the main attraction of the E-Ray is the all-wheel drive and its powertrain that combines the Stingray’s 495-horsepower gasoline engine and a 160-horsepower electric motor to produce a total of 655 horsepower.

We searched high and low and could not find the original MSRP of this car, but the original base price of the 3LZ cars started in 2024 at $122,850 – already nearly $18,000 off that figure, without even adding in the options, including carbon fiber wheels.

The price seems to be in line with other used E-Rays on the market now, but unfortunately, they all seem to be sitting for a long time. Will the No. 1 VIN make a difference?

  1. I’ll help you out. Sticker is 130,920. Options were:

    CF painted CF ground effects
    CF 1 interior
    Blue racing stripes
    Engine appearance package
    Silver engine cover

And at some point, the polished, forged wheels were swapped with carbon fiber.

  2. P.S.
The visible CF wheels were a 10k option. Subtract $1500 for the alloys and add 10k for the CF. That would take the MSRP to ~$139,420.
