This Blade Silver C7 Corvette Z06 coupe apparently isn’t afraid of heights.

A news video from ABC7 shows the Stingray in a position no Corvette owner ever wants to see — their car’s front end dangling over the edge of an overpass above the I-5 Freeway in Anaheim, California.

The unusual crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday near the Lincoln Avenue overpass.

Details about exactly what led to the accident were scarce, but the Corvette apparently crashed through a fence along the overpass before coming to rest with its nose hanging precariously over the freeway some 18 feet below.

Fortunately, the car stopped before making the much longer trip to the pavement beneath it.

As strange as the scene was, the driver added another mystery to the story.

Rather than sticking around to explain how his Corvette wound up hanging over one of Southern California’s busiest freeways, the driver reportedly got out of the car and left the scene.

That left authorities with a dangling Corvette — and plenty of questions.

Whatever happened in the moments before the crash, the Corvette came remarkably close to turning a bad night into something much worse.

For once, a Stingray’s ability to hug the road wasn’t nearly as important as its ability to hang on to the edge.
