INFOGRAPHIC: How Corvette Buyers are Ordering their 2027 Corvette Grand Sports

Chevrolet has been building the new 2027 Corvette Grand Sport since the week of June 8th and our latest count via the Vette Tracker app shows 2,652 Corvette Grand Sports produced so far for the 2027 model year.

We used the window sticker stats from both the Vette Tracker app as well as the website GM Build Counts to create this infographic that shares the most interesting build stats that includes body styles, trim levels, performance packages and the top exterior colors for the newest C8 model.

As we have seen since the beginning of Grand Sport production, the heritage model that fits within the “sweet spot” between the Stingray and Z06 has maintained its share of 35% of all Corvettes produced. Chevrolet calls it the most configurable and customizable C8 in the lineup and it’s been fun seeing how people have been building theirs.

Update
I previously was showing the total exterior colors, and this has now been corrected with Exteriors for the Grand Sport.

  1. Unfortunately that can’t be broken down, splitting actual customer orders and dealer stock orders. Dealers choose what they think they can sell, and they will, not necessarily what the customer would choose if they wanted to wait for an allocation.

  2. @Doug. Very true. Nevertheless I’m curious about things like color. Are customers choosing admiral blue for example or is that the dealer’s preference?

  3. @BFL

Color is about novelty. HP and RG sold well in their first year. So did CY. All non-monochrome colors tend to spike in year 1, and drop off excessively after that.

CY is ~2% of this selection–despite all of the color-blind purists insisting that it would sell far better than AY. Everyone pointed to AY having an abysmal take rate–but that’s precisely what happened with CY. ~6% take rate in 2025; ~4% in 2026. AY was virtually the same in 2024 as CY is on the 2027 GS.

TLDR: non-red colors peak in the first MY offered. Similar spikes occur with the changes from ELB to Riptide; from Sebring to AO and back, etc. Pitch is getting the same kind of spike that we saw with Seawolf. Both dealers and private parties order the novelty colors.

  4. Well most of the cars are pre sold as few are dealer stock right now. They show in stock but they are sold waiting on prep.

The Admiral Blue is a traditional caolor but is also showing up on the non GS models in great numbers.

The Pitch Gray is not good in photos but in person in the sun pops. I expect it will sell more as people see it.

The stripes are 50/50 love hate.

The real issue with the dealer stock cars is you have to settle for the interiors. So many red or blue dipped. Not my thing. Aldo the lack of either Z52 packages.

I ordered got it loaded in blue and my red black interior with ceramic brakes and carbon trim.

  5. According to RPO codes related to retail & stock orders (data current as of September 18), the only difference is Torch Red being in 3rd place for Retail orders vs 7th for Stock
