[PICS] IndyCar Champ Josef Newgarden Takes Delivery of a 2026 Corvette ZR1 Coupe at the NCM

The National Corvette Museum’s R8C Delivery Program hosted a special guest this week as IndyCar champ Josef Newgarden took delivery of his new 2026 Corvette ZR1 Coupe.

The Competition Yellow ZR1 Coupe features the body color split window, and it’s further optioned with the ZR1’s visible Carbon Fiber Wheels, Yellow Calipers, the Carbon Fiber Aero Package and Stealth exterior badges. We don’t get a good look at the interior, but it appears to be Jet Black with Yellow Stitching and Yellow Seatbelts.

This isn’t Josef’s first C8 Corvette as he previously took delivery of a 2020 Corvette Stingray during the inaugural year of production. Josef was granted a special tour of the Corvette Assembly Plant back in February 2020 just before the COVID shutdowns, and that video provided the first opportunity for Corvette enthusiasts to see the C8 Corvette being assembled at the factory. When his tour was over, his Arctic White Z51 Coupe was waiting for him at the end.

Since becoming a Corvette owner in 2020, Newgarden became the first consecutive winner of the Indy 500 in 22 years with back-to-back wins in 2023 and 2024. Also in 2024, he joined Penske’s GTP No.7 entry and won the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona with Matt Campbell, Felipe Nasr, and Dane Cameron.

The National Corvette Museum’s R8C Program has delivered more than 20,000 Corvettes to new owners since its inception in 1995. In addition to having their personal Delivery Host walk them through all the functions of their new Corvettes, participants also receive a one-year NCM membership, a special VIP guided tour of the NCM, a unique decal placed inside the driver’s door jamb, a personalized interior dash plaque, a personalized wall plaque, and an individual photo in front of the museum. The cost of the R8C program is currently $1,495.
