It’s the week before Thanksgiving which means it’s time for one of the greatest cars shows on the planet. The 2025 edition of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) takes place this weekend just outside of Chicago. If your Saturday and Sunday plans don’t already include the MCACN show, then you’ll need to go ahead and change them now before reading further.

The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals has been called the Pebble Beach of Muscle Cars and that couldn’t be more appropriate. Each year Bob Ashton and the MCACN team assemble nearly 600 of the best of the best muscle cars, Corvettes and more under one roof. Using rotating marques, new invitational themes, and fresh feature displays, MCACN is a new and unique show each year. It’s always on our calendar, and here are 11 reasons why it should be on yours too.

Triple Diamond Corvette Competition: Sponsored by Corvette Central, this competition is strictly for Corvettes that have previously won NCRS Top Flight and Bloomington Gold awards. With those credentials, you know these are the top Corvettes out there. Those attaining the Concourse Gold award also get the coveted Triple Diamond award. Another record batch of 50+ Corvettes are expected this year.
Corvette Legends: Mid America Motorworks is hosting this celebration of Corvette evolution with a significant Corvette spanning multiple generations. While you’re there be sure to check out their cool drivable, cutaway Corvette parked in their booth.
1969 #49 Stars and Stripes L88 Racer: This famous Corvette racer was piloted by Don Yenko, John Greenwood, Dick Smothers and others around tracks like Lemans and Sebring. Today it remains in tip top condition thanks to a restoration by Kevin Mackay’s Corvette Repair team.
The Red Carpet Display: This year check out 2 full rows of Hemi B-body convertible mopars right as you walk in the door. This should be an excellent addendum to the legendary Hemi E-body convertible display several years ago.
Barn Finds and Hidden Gems: They’re not all shiny and fresh at MCACN. This display features rare and unique treasures displayed in their “as found” condition.
Classes of 1965 and 1970 Reunions: These displays spotlight the brightest and best from 1965 and 1970. See the full spectrum of Detroit’s best from 1965 including Z16 Chevelles and 1970 featuring W31 Oldsmobiles, Stage 1 Buicks, and more.
Overhead Cammers Invitational: Not every car in the muscle car era had a V8. Check this display featuring cars powered by the Pontiac Overhead Cam 6 engine.
Mopar Spring Fever Invitational: In what’s sure to be the brightest display in the building, this incredible group will cover Mopars built in Panther Pink/Moulin Rouge and Sassy Grass/Green Go.
Malaise Era Muscle: This fun show within the show salutes the bummer late 1970’s and 80’s when muscle cars had no muscle. The 2025 display will be anchored by a collection of 8 Mustang II King Cobras each in a different color and all from 1 collection.
Generations Invitational: Most of us got into the hobby because of a parent or family member. Come see this display highlighting multiple generations of families sharing the car hobby. Keep an eye out for your Detroit Bureau here and be sure to say hello.
Kids Stuff: MCACN is one of the most kid friendly car shows around. Kids 12 and under always get in free. Once inside they can participate in the scavenger hunt, build a model car, enter the coloring contest, and even judge some cars thanks to NCM Insurance and the Youth Judging program.

Whew! Okay, so there’s way more than 11 reasons to go to MCACN this weekend. We didn’t even talk about the celebrity appearances (Derek Bieri, Wayne Carini, Courtney Hansen, and others), the seminars, the premiere unveilings, automotive venders, or all the other special displays and vehicle certifications. You’ll just have to head for Chicago this weekend to see for yourself.

The Top 11 Reasons Why You Should Attend the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals this Weekend

The 2025 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals happens this weekend November 22nd and 23rd at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois (just outside of Chicago). The show runs 9am-8pm on Saturday and 9am-5pm on Sunday. Single day tickets are $40 each online and $45 at the gate. Weekend passes are $80. Kids 12 and under always get in free. Sunday is Military Appreciation Day where past and present military members also get in free. Just show your military ID card at Will Call in the main lobby.
