[VIDEO] IndyCar Racer Josef Newgarden Takes His 2020 Corvette for a Cruise

Today marks the countdown to the August 23rd Green Flag with the naming of the 2020 Corvette Stingray as the official pace car for the 104th running of the Indy 500. So it only seems fitting to turn to one of our favorite IndyCar drivers Josef Newgarden as he shares a new video featuring his personal 2020 Corvette.

We’ve previously featured Josef’s interest in the 2020 Corvette after he toured the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green back in February where he was able to see his car for the first time. Then in May, he picked up the car from a Penske Chevrolet dealer in Indianapolis and drove it to a shop to be fully wrapped in XPEL paint protection.

In this new video, Josef says he has driven the mid-engine sportscar just three times and he tells us that hasn’t even reached the 500-mile break-in point. Josef talks about the car’s ride and handling as well as the steering feel which he really enjoys. “I’ve been really happy with it and like the balance of the car a lot,” he says as he is driving down a country road outside of his hometown of Nashville.

The video is very well done and features drone footage interspersed with his commentary and driving scenes. Plus you get some bonus footage as Josef shows off his Camaro ZL1 1LE that he sent to Hennessey for the HPE850 upgrade.
