For Corvettes at Carlisle, Chevy brought some major firepower in the horsepower wars by showing off two examples of the 2026 Corvette ZR1X during a Corvette Engineering walk-around at the fairground’s grandstands. One of the cars had newly arrived to the show on Friday and didn’t make our post on the 2026 Corvettes driven to the show by the engineers on Thursday morning.
That car was another Roswell Green Metallic Corvette ZR1X, but this one was a convertible with no aero and it was rocking the new Very Dark Atmosphere interior which is the official name of the interior.
This is our first time seeing the Very Dark Atmosphere interior and the viewing was made even easier as the convertible top was lowered. Inside you can see that the darkish brown color highlighted with the Yellow seat belts. The color itself is more of a darker mocha color in our opinion, and they look great on these Competition Seats, which are constructed with different types of material with the leather wrapped around the top portion while the seating surfaces appear to be that “performance covering” that we only see on the Comp seats.
Very Dark Atmosphere also has what looks to be a beige-color stitching which offers a nice contrast, and the surrounding sueded microfiber material that surrounds the cabin offers a contrast as well as its more of a slate color than it is brown.
We consulted the 2026 Corvette Order Guide and found that Very Dark Atmosphere is available across the table on all 10 exterior colors so no D30 Color Overrides if you wanted to add this interior to a Red or Blue exterior car.
The brownish interior reminds of somewhat of the 2014 Corvette interior called Brownstone that was introduced during Corvette’s first year of the C7 and quickly became one of our favorites. They had two versions of the Brownstone that year with one being full leather while the other was leather with suede seating surfaces.
Here are the photos we took of the Very Dark Atmosphere on the Roswell Green ZR1X and we have a couple photos of the C7 Brownstone to compare to:

So what do you think of this new interior? Let us know in the comments below!

I loved the brownstone in their NY auto show car. Once I decided on the Laguna blue exterior I felt the brownstone was not a good match and went with light gray. It turned out to be an unpopular and rare choice. Nice to see it back with the lighter accents though I still think it’s not a great match for some exterior colors, however many people don’t see color choices that way. I recently saw a one of one C8 with orange outside and red inside, not a choice many would make (thus one of one).
I thought the seats were gray until they showed them in sunlight and you could tell they were brown, which I didn’t care for. I really prefer seat belts to match and not stick out like a sore thumb the way the yellow ones do on this color interior.
I have been waiting for GM to bring back a darker brown interior color. Some of the past ones are beautiful but this one doesn’t ring my bell except in certain exterior colors. Maybe the Quail version of Blade Silver Matte or the regular Blade Silver would look good with it. Many are choosing flamboyant color schemes these days to emulate Lamborghini and Ferrari. I tend to think those are a little “racer boy” and try to tone them down. Hence, my attraction of dark brown.
Not a fan. Maybe they will bring back caffeine brown to go with it…💩
Looks great in the corvette. I have it in my 2022 Tahoe and love it. It would go with about any color. It looks great in white.
Hope some enterprising individual comes up with covers to put over those open cup holders.
Looks good but underwhelming.
Butt ugly.
Doesn’t matter if inside or outside, for a sportscar, brown is a hard no. Just no.
And, I think the sales numbers agree with me on that.
No, no and no!
It is not for me. Black or grey
I also do not like it as it’s too dark (in my opinion) and the yellow seatbelts look aftermarket as they stick out like a sore thumb.
If I order Brown, does it come with free anti depression pills?
Not for me!
Why do you have 2 pictures of a C7 Interior at the bottom?
Because we were comparing the new Very Dark Atmosphere to the two versions of Brownstone offered in the C7.
While I like the Roswell Green exterior, I don’t care for the new interior color, especially on this particular car. Roswell Green, brown interior, yellow seat belts and black wheels and trim pieces. WAY too busy for me. What a horrible combination of colors! I can’t believe that someone is going to pay over $200,000 for that car !!!!!
I agree! With a black interior and seat belts that blend in rather than stick out like a sore thumb, it would look a whole lot richer and better.
And as for black wheels, the belong only on cop cars and spare tires. Need some contrast. At least polished or chrome would look great on this car.
That would be me I was hoping you could pick me up at my location.
