According to a Chevrolet dealer memo that came out back in April, the 2025 model year was supposed to run through Friday, August 1st. Usually, we have found Chevy is pretty spot-on when it comes to production scheduling, so it was a bit of a surprise to hear that the 2026 model year may have started a day or two earlier than initially planned.

We first heard about the early start from one of our dealer friends over the weekend who stated a customer-ordered 2026 Corvette Stingray had already been completed. That means his customer’s car most likely started down the assembly line sometime on Thursday, July 31st.

The early start for the 2026s was also confirmed by a member of the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com whose 2026 Stingray VIN 010 built was completed on Thursday, July 31st. Originally he had a Target Production Week (TPW) of October 11th so that was a really big surprise for him to see his car already completed.

Update, I just saw he also made a quick video talking about it:

As for how this has impacted those final 2025 Corvette ZR1s on the assembly line and if and when they were completed is still something we are trying to find out more on. We are also still waiting to see when those other 2025 ZR1 orders will be moved to 2026. The current count is 108 ZR1s completed for 2025 (with maybe 2-4 still to be completed or have been completed and not yet reported). Conti told us that of those original 310 orders, there were 101 that were bumped to the 2026 model year already. But that leaves around 99 ZR1 orders from those initial 310 orders that are still in limbo.

And finally, another component to the 2026 model year is the Build & Buy Configurator on Chevrolet.com which still hasn’t been made public yet. It’s bad enough that early 2026 customers didn’t have access to the Configurator for building their dream cars, and even now after the first 2026 models have rolled off the assembly line, customers still can’t use the configurator for building and pricing the 2026 Corvette. Although Chevrolet simply said “August 2025” for the arrival of the 2026 configurator, we’ve heard that it could be coming as early as sometime this week, so let’s hope that happens.

  1. Is it still a must to replace trans fluid every 3 years on the 2026 corvettes regardless of mileage? Replacing the DCT filters at 7500 miles is not questionable!!
