The YouTuber named Christian Wheeler is back with another video featuring his Arctic White 2025 Corvette ZR1 Coupe. Today, we get to see how the 1-064-hp ZR1 is capable at performing on the track at Sebring International Raceway.
Wheeler prefaces his video to let people know that he’s not a professional driver and has no plans to pus the car beyond HIS capabilities. He states the goal for this track day is to go out and enjoy the experience, have fun, and hopefully achieve some decent lap times without damaging himself of his new Corvette. He also states that too many performance cars, especially Corvettes, often end up sitting in garages as they wait for their values to appreciate. He says, “I believe in driving these cars and enjoying them to the fullest. So, let’s see how the ZR1 performs on the track!”
Despite not participating in any recent track outings, Wheeler signed himself up for the intermediate class and on his first session out, his best lap came in at 2:21. It wasn’t without a little drama though as on the very next lap, Wheeler spun out the ZR1 in Turn 7. He calls it a learning moment, reminding him to take turns more cautiously and to brake earlier.
Session two has his fastest lap just a little slower than session one with a time of 2:22.6. There was traffic on the course and Wheeler is thinking he lost a little time while working to pass other cars. And finally, in Session Three, he works to identify several corners where he could maintain more speed through them while also working on his braking points. It must have worked, as he managed to achieve a personal best of 2:20
Wheeler says throughout the day the ZR1 performed exceptionally well. No overheating issues and the car remained stable and responsive through the entire track day. One of the crazy stats from being on the track is that he averages 3.7 MPG during the individual track sessions, and going through nearly a full tank of gas during each 30-minue session! “This car drinks fuel, so if you’re planning to track it regularly, be prepared to fill up often,” says Wheeler.
After a full day of track sessions, Wheeler says confidently that the 2025 C8 ZR1 is the best Corvette ever made. With its incredible balance, stability, and performance, it outshines previous models, including the C7 ZR1 which he also owned. Even as a novice driver, the ZR1 was able to achieve competitive lap times!
What’s next for Wheeler? We are still waiting to see some additional drag races from his date at the Orlando Speed World with Brooks from DragTimes, and he also has another track day coming up at Daytona International Speedway. So, stay tuned to CorvetteBlogger as we will bring you these as they are posted.

Bet he came close to filling his britches when he did the 360 in that expensive bad boy!
Well used ZR1
Mentions a tank of gas per session but nothing about the tires – I bet they were bald before he left the track.
Tires, gas, that’s racing… On the dragstrip, half the tire expense… not very significant in this automobile market segment. Whether it can match or beat a Senna will not change my buying decision to order a fantastic ZR1 or ZR1X when given a chance in a couple of years. Great job Chevy!
